Slow finish or am I missing something?

I started growing these plants 4 months ago.
Seeds were from unknown plant grown last year which made nanners late into flower and knocked itself up.
These plants are also nannering, but since the seeds seem to always be female, and only a few are produced, I don't really see it as a bad thing, but could this be the reason they are taking so long to finish?

Switched to 12/12 on day 25, showed sex days 35-40.
Light: 55 days under 322 watt t5 and cfl.
33 days under 600 watt hps with cooltube
No light leaks, temps are usually 84F at canopy. Light is 10" from tallest plants.
Dark periods have gone as low as 50F (maybe this is the cause of the slow finish?)

Pistils are still mostly white at the top half of the plants, and trichomes are clear to cloudy. There are some ambers on the extremities of some of the leaves, but none on the buds themselves.

Am I missing something?KIMG0161.jpg KIMG0163.jpg KIMG0164.jpg KIMG0179.jpg The leaves in the last pic are not as yellow as they seem, my hps was peeking out the tent flap.

It depend on the strain as to how long it takes to finish. I have some that finishes in 64 days from seed and then i have some that takes 140 days from seed. I would say you have about 20 to 30 days left.

can you be 100% sure that the plant has received uninterrupted 12 hr dark periods every day?

only reason i ask is it looks like your plant has revegged slightly at some point, some strains are very sensitive to having their 12 hr "rest" period broken and will stop flower production and concentrate on growing stems and leaves if they dont have a full 12 hours darkness.

this can extend flowering times exponentially, create an undesirable bud structure and even lead to the plant never fully "finishing".

the plant looks to me like it has flowered for a few weeks then had a rude awakening at some point which has led to the situation you find yourself in.

i honestly think you will lose that cola to mould if you keep it going, there are dead and dying leaves being swallowed up inside the buds, judging by the pistils i would say you have at least 4-5 weeks before they recede into the calyx, i fear the plant will have no living leaves left by then.

They look fine to me. I had way worse my last grow.
I spent almost 4 months in flower last one, due to a small reveg problem. After I sorted it things were still stalled tho. The last 2 weeks in a last ditch attempt, I changed the timers for an extra hour and a half of darkness, and sure enough, my sativa dominant plants became ready.

Also- there are plenty of people who TRIM THE LEAVES AS THE BUDS RIPEN!! Just incase you worry about them going in and becoming mouldy.

The broad, basil-like leaves look like a sensi kush I grow which takes a *long* time to finish. It also foxtails during that time.

I am positive there have not been any interruptions in light/dark periods. There are actually four plants all the same age. I accidentally snapped the main stem almost completely off on the biggest plant, and after that it seemed to grow like crazy.
Humidity around here rarely rises over 14%. Even in the tent, 25% is the highest it gets. Do I really need to worry about mold? Would you recommend I chop the cola early? She is huge and very dense.

I'm hoping mike4c4 is right, and i just have a slow strain.

I think i will try shortening the photo-period. Thanks for the advice.

When harvest time comes, are there still a lot of foxtails, or do they brown up pretty good?

It's hard to explain how I choose when to harvest this. I just harvested two today (small 12/12 from seed plants that, just like the ones I've vegged for 6 weeks, took about 4 weeks longer to finish than the other strains grown at the same time). I look at the trichs and when they're mostly cloudy, I take it. The foxtails might not be, but I ignore those.

I've tried hitting them hard with P, or going to water-only. But, they finish slow anyway.

Sometimes I've wondered if using Alaska Kelp as a supplement might contribute to it. I've read kelp contains hormones that can cause weird stuff to happen in flower. It did seem like the latest foxtailing happened after I supplemented kelp. Something to consider if you use kelp.

I wouldnt cut anything. As long as your not spraying it with anything they will be ok, will need extra time drying though.

Not a kelp user. Unless ocean forest has kelp. For this grow, I used a 50/50 mix of ferti-lome and ocean forest potting mix.
I have not backed off on nutes at all. 2-3 tsp big bloom, 2ml cal/mag plus, every watering.

I never quite understand about the trichomes. If i look at the middle of the sugar leaves, they are mostly cloudy, but deep inside the buds, they are clear. Some leaves have amber and even black dead trichs, so I confuse myself and decide to go to bed.

Yes HPS makes a BIG difference. lol And no dont change the light schedule it will make it worse.
Az2000 says shortening the photoperiod helped his plants finish, but then again, a lot can happen in two weeks anyway.

But aren't the plants always on the verge of re-vegging in 12/12? It seems that decreasing the light by a couple of minutes a day would keep the plant on a fast track toward finishing; Especially in the case of slow finishers like mine.
