Says the guy who spends all his time in the politics section of a weed site. Do you even grow bro?LOL. Puts me on ignore list because I gave an educated opinion on a topic I know a fair amount about.
You people do realize you need to be at least 18 years of age to join this site, right?

You answered my question. Thanks.March 1, 2015. NoDrama? That you? Doer? Harrekin? Dumb dumb.

"You're", as in, you are, not "your".Or B: Because your fucking stupid. I dunno. Ima go with B.
lol"You're", as in, you are, not "your".
Pro tip: When calling someone out for being, "fucking stupid", try to at least use good grammar, it will make you look so much cooler.
Free market would mean no government coercion. Yet here you are, endorsing it. Patent laws are necessary for a breeder to own anything. And patent laws benefit only one person and no one else. And ironically can even hurt that person if they inhibit further research or innovation, which typically they do.That's all just so ironic and completely backward. You basically label the hard working breeders who deserve credit as greedy persons, while that's obviously the pocket filling pollen chuckers... and the people wanting to save $20 on seeds by buying from a ripper.
As for your monsanto comment, the opposite is in fact the case. Because the consumers in the cannabis industry support pocket filling pollen chuckers, companies like Monsanto and other greedy corporations will 'win'. Unfortunately writing 10 pages which factual examples and explain the fuck out of on all the cannabis boards isn't going to change anything, and unfortunately, time WILL tell....
When you create something, it's your creation. Ridiculous comment, yet doesn't seem obvious to many. "Ownership" in this context doesn't really apply though. As soon as you sell seeds, you sell genetics, which the buyer is imo free to use as he or she pleases. Except for one thing... and that's recreate the same strain (which is never the same but typically and unnecessarily further inbred kockoff) and sell it under the same name and fill pockets based on the hard work of the original breeder. And when you create a new strain with it's genes, give credit or yes even a share of the profit to the original breeder or a previous breeder who's work you are building on.
This thread is nuts... and reeks of socialism.... communism even... ya'll the 99% right... occupy those greedy breeders
For many years I blamed the self-proclaimed breeders, now I realize most of you don't give a fuck about quality or paying the man or the future of cannabis (ask any non-cannabis plant breeder what the effect of hybrid x hybrid x hybrid x pollen chuck x hermie bag seed elite og kush clone results in) or w/e basic principles and ethics apply here, hence, you deserve nothing more than the pollen chucking pocket fillers. Fools.
@Ace Yonder: when I said better market, I was talking 100% about a better market for growers. That's the irony...
100% percent correct. He is ironically supporting the concepts he's trying to use as insults in his extremely unnecessarily hostile post as well.It seems like you are upset; there's no need for calling an opinion idiotic/ridiculous just because you don't agree with it. It doesn't make any of your points more pertinent and stops tha conversation.
Oh and actually that isn't irony at all. All that text don't mean shit because in the end all breeders built on someone else's work. Every. Single. One. It's like you said, you buy the pack, you own the genes. Would you support patenting of genes then? Should you pay reparations to all afghan farmers for using their strains somewhere in the breeding?
No person made this plant.
My black widow is far too strong for most tokers (seriously about half have anxiety attacks). Straight up. Hell, it's too much for me sometimes. Gonna have to strongly disagree that their work doesn't hold up. As far as prices go, some of them should be cheaper. But MNS is pretty dirt cheap if you go through his auction site or him directly and are medical.I also feel like a company like Dinafem has done enough work to warrant them getting their own credit without needing to share it.
They have taken strains that were good, stabilized certain traits, and in some cases have made the strain better than what you can get from the original breeder.
Of course the original breeders could easily compete. Lower the prices on their strains for one, these strains are like 20+ years old and they still want maximum money for them. If they havent made their money in all these years with the popularity of their strains and their names, then maybe they should consider restructuring their business plans.
DJ Short, Mr. Nice, Shantibaba, etc. all have an advantage just by name recognition.
I also feel like, while their strains were revolutionary to today's cannabis, they dont hold up to a lot of today's strains. They have been surpassed. Time to step out of the past and step into the NOW. Stop working on the f5 generation of the strain from 1990 and start getting the elite clones and work them.
This a-hole I used to know paid $320 for 10 seeds of sensi's jack back in 2003. He got one female! Mainly because he sucked at growing but still it made me laugh.Original breeders unless of course they are assholes like Sensi Seeds charging $200 for 10 regular seeds of Jack Herrer only douche bags charge that kind of money. Don't even get me going on Dr. Greenthumb. LMAO
That's right. I forgot about the medical discount with doctors note. Plus a volume discount for anyone. And that's an everyday deal offered. If your patient you can't beat the auctions. Unless you want certain strains everyone watches all year long. I don't think you'll find a breeder that treats you better than MNS. My first purchase went attitude because I wanted MNS and serious seeds. They gave me 5 free beans all dinafem. After that I was interested in g13/haze. So I emailed MNS because I wanted some clarity as to the rumors. Shanti emailed back himself a few days later with the answers. PLUS he offered me a free pack to see if I liked it. So I signed up for the auctions because I loved the fact he replied quickly and couldn't have been more helpful. No pack came with less than 20 beans. That's 33% free before discounts. Never mind shipping is INCLUDED in the auction price. Packs say 15 but come with 18 from him directly it's never been less than 20 per straw. Once I sent a little to much money and they threw extra beans of all the strains I ordered. Another time Simone was away when I sent in my order. Since there was a slight delay they threw in a pack of beans I had not tried. Other than choosing to use western union I couldn't dream of a compliant after 3-4 years of business. My black widow is far too strong for most tokers (seriously about half have anxiety attacks). Yeah that's a problem. I haven't bought fem seeds. So the first calculation I make is 50% waste since I don't use males. If I'm crossing Im crossing my selected females. Just because I have zero experience choosing a male. So rather than trail and error this skips that step along with saving the space the males take.Original breeders unless of course they are assholes like Sensi Seeds charging $200 for 10 regular seeds of Jack Herrer only douche bags charge that kind of money. Don't even get me going on Dr. Greenthumb. LMAO
Sannie is as straight as they come, feel comfortable making a purchase. I have sent cash in an envelope with no problems at all.Yeah that's a problem. I haven't bought fem seeds. As far as sensi specifically I agree to date jack herer is the only thing I've even searched for the knock offs. The problem I have here is Sannies seems to be noted as being the best and attitude doesn't carry them. So I'd have to decide to trust someone new to send me my purchase. And more importantly likely need to order from another location since I've never ordered one strain at a time. If it wasn't sky high I would have picked up jack herer with my very first order from attitude. But with the price I opted to wait. Plus reports have been hit and miss about sensi for a long time now so it was easy to remove from the order.
