yep .... That's what the op is on aboutoh i see what you ment. Ya you are probably right, a plant will grow in veg about the same even if the light is broken up.

It just shows that the plant does different things under different amounts of light for different times, if it happens during flowering why couldn't things be different givin the same variables during veg, wheres flowering come into this ?
your op says 18/6 veg 9/3
and 24/0
i never mentioned flower time .
Yes but the question is can the plant use 18 hours of straight light with 6 hours of straight dark as efficiently as 9/3/9/3,what if the plant absorbs quicker during first few hours or slower during first few, if it is quicker when it has no energy, then givinng it 2 times a day to release it's energy back to 0 or close to it would be benificial to the plant. And if it absorbs faster during second half of light then that means longer days would be benificial, eg. 24 hours on 6 hours off or something along those lines. Would need to change manually or get an expensive timer but just an idea, any thoughts?no your miss understanding
your on about energy stored through the day to use on the night ....... But wether you give it 18/6 or 9/3 X2 in 24 hours your still getting the same energy.
ive been working on this one too. swims evolution shit goin on,Shiiiet all this times 16/8 2 plus 2, 25 hours in a day, etc, etc.... now im al lfucked up in my head and high looool.. NO please is Sunday hahahaha! happy sunday to all =)

u f@cked me even more (mentally) lol.ive been working on this one too. swims evolution shit goin on,
this is like saying instead of 9/3 you could have 3/1
but its just fuckin the laws of physics. the plant will have a really short and shitty life. been tested.
Hardly any growth as its too stressed to understand the massive light change in its genetics.
The only proven way to do it is to increase/decrease minutely through breeding, but that will never give you its optimal output unless your intent is to grow 3yr-5yr old monsters but you could still argue optimal per to the amount of 12/12 ones you could of grown at there tried and tested yields
. the 25hr light cycle was toyed with originally to throw the electric companys of your surge patterns in the U.K,
(to make it work on a 7 day timer you have to add 3hrs42mins to each day making your light cycle 21.42 on, 6 off)
not sure why anyone else did.
the idea to increase veg/ time not sure?
Bare in mind that these strains of cannabis grown today are specially breed to give there best output between 11-18hrs of light.
18/6 could also be a bunch of 3/1'sthat's 18/6 = 9/3
6 hours darkness in 24 hours
but why
idk18/6 could also be a bunch of 3/1's
yeh, already said it, but would never work. the plant will think it only has a 3 hr day.18/6 could also be a bunch of 3/1's
p.s this can be done with any 24hrs timer and digital 7 day timersYes but the question is can the plant use 18 hours of straight light with 6 hours of straight dark as efficiently as 9/3/9/3,what if the plant absorbs quicker during first few hours or slower during first few, if it is quicker when it has no energy, then givinng it 2 times a day to release it's energy back to 0 or close to it would be benificial to the plant. Yes it would,Think that would be pointless. Just an opinion.
I had a similar thought.... What if you ran 11/11 and lost 2 hours every day by winding your timer on??? Would you finish quicker??
Hi I was wondering if anybody has ever tried an 9/3 light cycle for veg? Giving it enough light energy to use during the dark and again?that's 18 hours light total a day but broken up making sure they don't run out of energy to work with while they sleep. I can't find any info on how much energy a plant uses while it sleeps so I can't be sure. And just so nobody tries to change my opinion I don't agree with 24/0 light cycle and will not ever lol, not saying anyone's wrong just my opinion thank you!
Nah, this is purely for faster/increased growth/flower. there is a whole lot of thinking out the box in this thread.9/3? if you are looking to save energy do 12-1. 12 on, 5.5 off 1 on 5.5 off
Lol. says the guy who has never tried it. it is a proven method. its a veg cycle.Nah, this is purely for faster/increased growth/flower. there is a whole lot of thinking out the box in this thread.
the light pattern your suggesting will only screw up your grow, its like someone turning the light on for an hour in your 12hrs sleep. to make it work its has to be kept the same consistent on off hours for your plant to cope.
