I follow politics and used to be a hardcore republican. I cant stand the liberal left, fucking pussifiying America with political correctness and just hanging those who do speak up! I'm not so much a republican anymore either. I now consider myself a libertarian. We are slowing loosing our rights under both parties and its done in such a way that we dont notice or its OK because the government knows whats best and is protecting you. Thomas Jefferson said it best and its not a direct quote but close. " those who give up liberties for security deserves neither and WILL lose both!" I'm sure you understand what he is saying here! People need to wake up and pull their head out of their asses! 99% of these politicians have their best interest in mind NOT YOURS!

As soon as I put buck on ignore something happened to my computer and the ignore feature didn't work and my computer slowed way down to the point I have to log out if I want to read anything on RIU. I never got a message from administration that I have been put on a slow down. I don't even know what a slow down is or if it is possible to manipulate some ones computer like that.

Is this something that has happened to anybody else?

I've had no such problems. I put he who shall not be named on ignore quite a while ago and it has improved the quality of this site tremendously. Of course, there are still complete idiots to contend with, but you don't have to read the same shit repeated endlessly by a hapless moron with serious psychological defects.

Just give up on technological advances, yet keep the decades old factories churning? If anything, that should be unacceptable. It's time to upgrade here in the states.

I understand it's dangerous, that's why I say we develop safer methods instead of being locked into 40 year technology. Hell, I would love a car to run on a nuclear battery some day. Safely.....

You made my point for me when you said nukes are fifty year old tech. Why is that? Regulations and restrictions. Hard to do R and D with hands tied behind their back.

People who rely on those plants to power their homes and businesses are under 50 year old plants, wouldn't it make sense to upgrade this technology? Why aren't we allowed to? They are still going to receive their power from this source, let's make it as safe as possible. I don't pretend to know how safe it can or can't be, i just know a lot of the policies in place are based on faulty fears. What France is doing was said to be impossible.
