What do you recycle?

It's a huge policy here to recycle. All the bins are colour coded for this reason.

In some countries it's compulsory, for example in Germany they make them pay more for the glass bottles to make sure they are brought back.

I recycle a bit, could do more. I heard that all the bins get mixed together so what's the point?

How wasteful or resourceful are you?

I recycle everything. I save and return plastic supermarket bags and crush aluminum cans and get a few bucks for them. The bags are the worst...they're everywhere.
I saw a Netflix movie about the incredible plastic island that floats around the ocean. Bits of 20 year old plastic that will never debrade. Its shameful.

In the house; glass, paper, cardboard, most plastics. This is over 75% of the household waste stream.

In the grow; all unused plant material gets composted, nearly everything that I use to grow with gets reused so it never hits the waste stream in the first place.

A lot of furniture gets recycled here. I've found a new non damaged IKEA mirror and a 70's or even 60's glass drinks trolley which folds up, it's cool.

In the grow I just use spreader mat which is like tea bag paper. Hardly any waste there but I only re-use soil for outdoor plants.

In the UK you would be fined if they caught you throwing out an old sofa whereas here it's welcomed as long as it's on the designated day. You see bed frames, cupboards etc all the time. Some people drive around in vans just to collect it!

I re-use drug bags unless they look dirty. I certainly re-use the vacuum bag type as they are expensive.

wtf those truck stop prostitutes are fucking disgusting, i would not even touch one of those if i was paid. those are some lonely ass men being taken advantage of!

i recycle parmersan cheese rind .

you know the bit on the end what u throw away ...... Add it to warm thickend milk and ya get a special cheese sauce :)

Ps ..... It melts but you have to take some of it out.

Tbh I'm sitting here kind of impressed that you even eat it and more so that you buy it on the block rather than ready grated.

I still think you're a dick though. So don't get too comfortable!

I just remembered something quite funny. Years ago in the UK they tried a recycling scheme with a dark green plastic box for glass bottles which were left on your driveway for collection. The thing is that the British were all keeping up appearances and didn't want the neighbours to be adding / eyeing up their bottles! Unless they were Polish, those fuckers didn't care!

The problem here is there are no recycle bins. People have to go out of their way here to recycle.

I even made a thing to mash tin cans. They are taken to the scrap yard with aluminum cans.
