REALSTYLES 6th DIY CXA 3590 5000k DB bin

Today I will be building a 413 watt panel with Cree CXA 3590 cobs. I can only build one for right now, I have to wait for the rest of my drivers to come in. Here are some of the things you will need.

• Tools: wire stripper , drill ( I have a drill press), drill bits 1/8, 5/32, 3/16, 3/16-NC18 tap
• Misc: solder, shrink tubing, 18ga wire I use solid wire not twisted for my application, because I'm using cob holders that eliminates having to solder wire to cobs, wing nuts and #8 x 1/2" self tapping screws, thermal grease
• Parts 8 - Cree CXA 3590, 8 - Ideal 2303CR(cob holder), 1 - 10" x 24" heat sink, 4 - 5/16" x 3-1/4" eyebolts and 2 - 3/16" chain cut to 6 links= 1ft, 4 - #10-24 x 2-1/2" machine screws and 2 - #8-32 x2" machine screws with the nuts and 4 spring chain links.

I forgot to mention you need a square to get your lines straight and also a marker to mark with. Maybe I shouldn't be smoking while making this thread lol.

First thing we need to do is mark where the fan is suppose to be and what I did was measure 12" and 5" wide



and then I measured 2" from the ends and 5" from the 2" lines from the middle

You do use a center punch, right?

Now it's time to mark the spot for the cob holders. from the lines you marked you start by measuring the first hole by marking the hole 1-1/2" from the edge on the first line and then you place the holder over where you marked and then mar the second hole. you do this on the outside lines and the middle line and the line in between the outer line you measure 4" from the edge and it should look like this

Yep I didn't want all the metal shavings all over the place and my bath room in small so easy clean up lol.

Awesome Realstyles! Will be following this closely as I understand a bit more about what you are doing after hours of reading. 1 question if you dont mind answering. What drivers are you utilizing?
