A 21-year-old who's refusing to pay back her student loans compares her cause to Rosa Parks' fight

Something I think was overlooked in this thread was the fact that this "loan dodger" student had the audacity to compare her courage to that of Rosa Parks.

She might have a case against the school...but not against us taxpayers.

She should pay back the loan to the bank, like she AGREED to do. And if she can prove the school was a farce, then let her collect from the school. NOT from us taxpayers.
These " Schools " are a joke & should be shut down , we were told about how they rip off ignorant people by the recruiter at U of M where our kids went/ attend .

Young people without the advantage of scholarships or parents with means look to these " accredited" schools as a leg up in life , they sign the loan agreement in good faith that the so called colleges will supply them with the tools needed to get a degree , at graduation they find out their so called education isnt even sufficient to get an entry level management position at McDonald's .

Ok so then we say too bad, the ignorant wide eyed kid should of used due diligence & investigated the schools accreditation & graduation to employment ratios as a reason they should pay the scam they got caught up in , a scam the government approves .

Being that these con game schools are eligible for & 99% of the time use government ( tax payer ) funded tuition it bolsters the kids faith where their attendance & graduation of the school will lead to gainfull employement , where was the government's due diligence in approving these schools for loan funding ?

Now the kid graduates Elmer Fudd Tech & finds out their " degree " isnt fit to wipe their ass with , now they are deep in debt with no usefull education ,hmmmm .

Who's more responsible for the situation ?

#1 The government which KNOWINGLY approves loan applications to schools with less than 1% successful transition ratios of graduates into the work force .

#2 The ignorant desperate kid who was mislead every step of the way by the school recruiter, with part of the deception being the governments participation in the scam by knowingly lending kids tuition fee's for schools that dont offer the proper curriculum for a graduate to enter the work force using the education provided ?

It's a scam the government promotes with its complacency & participation , who's getting kick backs from the governing body approving tuition loans to these scam schools ?

I wouldn't go as far as saying these kids dilema equates to Rosa Parks struggles but it is a nightmare for them , if the government continues allowing & helping these con game schools to mislead kids then let government eat the bill .

The concept that we are a debtor nation with an economy propped up on debt is lost on you.

If you are surviving without any credit cards, car loans, or monthly rent then I commend you.
Ive survived 62 yrs without debt & never went without , 99% of the country wouldn't be in debt if people lived within their means , everybody needs $400 phones , internet , cable tv , big 60 inch flat screen tv's , the list is endless .

It is not a hard task to live a good life without acquiring massive debt .

And it starts at such an early age, B.F. Skinner picked the perfect field to crossover into with the findings from his psychology experiments.

All that would need to happen is, for the main central bank (that determines its own policy) and the big business' (that use "psychological marketing") to team up.

If that were to ever happen, the masses would be pre-ordering newer versions of an old product that hasnt even been finished being developed, when they already have a perfectly good Iphone 5.

Knock on wood.

If you're taught to live that way, or start living that way early, it really is easy. It's not so easy to reverse the course, I've been working on it for 10 yrs. I am FINALLY 100% debt free, and other than hopefully buying a house someday, have no intention of getting back in to debt..I'll eat beans and toast and wear 3rd hand clothing before i do that again. Because we are never taught about personal finance, at all, in our education system, and that we're told to "use credit, it's a good thing, debt isn't bad", I'm almost convinced it's used to control people to an extent.

And it went largely unnoticed here.
I personally could care less what comparisons she made. She could have been comparing it to the moon landing, the facts of the matter are the same. I was more concerned with how she was paying interest on a loan that she didnt even fully receive yet.

@WeedFreak78 Almost convinced? Its crazy, the ratio of sheeple-thinkers is way high.

Like someone mentioned we are taught to follow and stay with the rest of the herd. We start placing labels on ourselves and children at birth.

Little girls cant play with gi joes because those are for boys. If a man hits a woman hes not a man, lol. What if that little girl will be the first female navy seal, what if the woman is attacking you with a knife?

This is why I really try to avoid using blanket statements that cover a wide range of issues and choose not to define myself or my actions by referring to an ideology. I think if my neighborhood was surveyed and they asked "Why dont you listen to country music?" I think the most people would say "because I am black" instead of "because Its not my style" or "I dont like it"
Until we stop limiting ourselves with the worldly labels, we wont reach our full potential.

My parents taught us kids to only use credit enough where it kept our rating high enough where we could access a decent credit line if needed , cash for all large purchases & to drive cheap cars while saving to buy new cars, we were also taught to buy an inexpensive small home with cash for our 1st home & put away 40% of our net pay in order to buy our permanent home with cash , interest will keep you broke , the biggest message our father impressed on us was if you cant pay for it in cash & its not hurting us not having the item then dont buy it on credit .

We taught our kids the same way .
