Popular Dynasty Strains

...and their origin.

Since you’ve all been so receptive and warmhearted I figured I do another one. I’m starting to see a pattern.

Let’s see, who’s Dynasty seeds.

“It all started in 1996 when professor p moved to a mmj friendly state with a few 100 seeds in search for a fresh start... During his first few years of growing from seed, professor p had realized what healing properties lie within certain cannabis genetics…”

I tried to copy a longer description but if I read the word medicinal one more time I’m going to puke. If you can’t breed, you need an angle. Bodhi for example suckers the “organic” growers, but you also got to love supporting a family business using a special genetics file. For Dynasty it’s all about helping people in need, people in pain. Which for all I know may be true, this is just about linage. :)

And yes, a lot of things started in the 90’s, after the first seed shops in Amsterdam opened up.

I don’t know if they’re popular actually, just picking some random ones.

Oregon Huckleberry
“The Oregon Huckleberry is a product of an ongoing 4 year inbreeding project involving the Oregon Blueberry(clone from the 80s, many say was a vital link in DjShort's BB line)…”

Oooh clone from 80s, “many say…”, sounds original…

That’s however one half of Huckleberry, what turned Oregon Blueberry into Oregon Huckleberry? Crossing it with Morning Glory. What’s Morning Glory I hear someone ask. Well, Morning Glory is a cross based on ( Hawaiian sativa x afghan indica) x Shiva Skunk, made by, take a seat haters, Barney’s Farm. And now you’re of course dying to know where Shiva Skunk comes from. Well, Shiva Skunk is NL#5 x Skunk#1, released in 1987 in Amsterdam. Guess who’s daughter is also called Shiva (yes, you guessed correctly, Ben Dronkers from Sensi seeds).

Caramel Cough = The Cough x Ms Universe

The Cough is NL#5/Haze. Not from Amsterdam, not one of the best strains many breeders used as a starting point (GHS amongst others) but an NL#5/Haze that fell out of the sky.

“The cough is a very special clone only cut of an Old NL#5/Haze.. I first received The Cough in the late 90s from a friend who moved to Oregon from Colorado... At the time I was gifted the cut, I was told it was the original NL#5 clone crossed with a Haze Bros Haze that he had been growing in colorado... He assured me this strain is NOT the same as the NL#5/Haze that came from Amsterdam…” Yeah he was told… but he too knows it’s bullshit, obviously.

MS Universe is Spacequeen cross, which is Romulan x C-99, and C-99 is bag seed from sensi x sensi. I actually like that one, despite the name, never smoked anything with Romulan (canadian) in it.

For MS Universe they listed 4 phenotypes, for caramel cough 5 different phenotypes. They successfully completed the first step of breeding a new variety, generating variation.

Think-Thank, another C99 x (dutch passion-) Masterkush-cross.

SSH F4 - which they refer to as a reworked Mr.Nice SSH.
Reworked… 1-1 inbreeding till F4… lists 3 different phenos…. chuck chuck chuck.

Cosmic Brain (really.. pretty soon you’re going to run out of stupid names as well).
Afghani x C99. And no, not afghani from one of the seedshop in Amsterdam but Oregon Afghani.

Blue Heron
Based on the Chuckleberry… err.. Huckleberry listed above and Blue Magoo, a clone from a cross based on Blueberry x Williams Wonder that was popular in the 90s in Oregon, about 5-8 years after Williams Wonder appeared in the catalogue of the SSSC in the Netherlands.

Mochalope
Oh… DNA Genetics chocolope… cannalope haze cross, according to DNA is O Haze x Mex Sativa. Starting with O Haze, instead of SSH or NL#5xHaze or Silver Haze is almost noble. Cannalope haze is according to thcfarmer and icmag just another c99 knockoff.

Spider bite (C99 x White Widow) x SSH
is (sensi genetics x ghs lol x shantiba from mr nice, who started GHS with arjan…)
That’s a nice combination though, would have been a winner if it didn’t have the flower time of the SSH. But they get points for trying  Plus, what a great example of a US "strain" (Bag seed from dutch strains x dutch ibls).

None of this changes the fact that MOST of your precious "Dutch" genetics all came over there from the good ol' US of A, particularly California. Kinda funny how all of a sudden the credit for breeding them miraculously stops at the dutch. I guess any breeding done before 1980 doesn't count?

"A History of Cannabis in Holland
by Ben Dronkers [Founder of Sensi Seedbank. Wanted to make sure you knew WHO wrote the article so you couldn't say it was American propaganda]
....
In 1978, people brought the first killer bud to Netherlands from the States and a standard was established. The first good seeds from the States came in about 1980. The 1980s also saw the formation of Lowlands Seed Company, the Seed Bank, SSSC and Sensi Seeds. It was through the journalistic efforts of Ed Rosenthal that breeders started to communicate with each other, exchanging information and genetics. In 1985, strains developed in the U.S. – Skunk #1, Early Pearl, Original Haze, Northern Lights, and Holland’s Hope – were the first grown in Dutch greenhouses. This revolutionized the growing and smoking scene...."

And those Americans largely have the guys in Afghanistan, Thailand, Mexico, Columbia.... this story will continue forever hopefully.

I don't understand the nationalistic sentiments very well I guess. I do like to encourage quality breeding practices, but AFAIK bodhi has done a lot of interesting things in this respect... open preservation of certain lines being the big thing to me.

In this game, due to the nature of things, most crosses end up being 1:1 or a little better. Sometimes these work out well, often not. The key is maintaining the original genetic pool properly because at the end of the day, if things ever become legal we'll have the paints in the shed necessary to recreate whatever it is we desire.

who are the real breeders, chuck, nev., sativied?
http://www.nomercyseeds.eu/en/speescees.htm  Actually not a bad example.

The real breeders and the best are the most imitated and most popular sources for genetics for starting breeders. They create the stable lines they and others use for hybrids, and add new varieties (usually means a specific taste in either skunk, haze, or kush, or another specific trait). They do not release dozens of "strains" per year. They are located in Amsterdam :bigjoint: Ok not all, I know (of) a few real breeders in the US, but ironically those aren't the ones cashing in.

Cannabis breeders don't have a whole lot of options when they start. Some people pop landraces in hopes of finding a keeper, but that's like going to Africa and look for a cheetah suitable as a pet. That's why those classics and the strains from the older dutch breeders are so popular for breeding projects, they have been acclimatized and adapted for indoor growing, for short flowering, for high calyx to leaf ratio etc etc. Incompetent self-proclaimed breeders who work with them end up creating a pale shadow of the parents. Which are then used to breed little inbred mongols, from which an "elite" cut is taken, which is then selfed and hyped long enough till another self-proclaimed breeder comes along and backcrosses it to SSH and becomes the new hot breeder at riu.

The running joke in the US that jews are greedy/frugal? I only know that from tv, that joke is on us here. Yet the largest and most commercial dutch breeders have less strains after 3 decades than a pollen chucker in the US has after a year... and then some noobs here who pretend to have any credibility when it comes to reviewing strains got the bloody nerve to bitch over how sensi seed is crap and not the real thing, while praising some of the most blatant chuckers, while in fact, without Ben Dronkers and other dutch breeders many of those self-proclaimed breeders in the US would have little to offer.

I got to say I like how Dynasty is open about their methods and lineage, although it factually shows they are just pollen chucking. Crossing phenotypes instead of genotypes.

Sativied the sly cat after he drops one of these threads.
Sure lol... that is so like me... Going into a christian forum telling people the story of Jesus is just bullshit is one thing... refuting the delusional responses and petty ad hominem attempts is not something I can be bothered with... well, unless it's entertaining. I gave up on trying to have a normal discussion with trolls. Time travel is hardly an exact science, doesn't change the point.

Plus why would I do a weird walk like that when I can drive away on my invisible bike...

Who cares who bred what...or who chucked what?

If the reefer in the lit joint is tasty and potent, it can originate with the abbos in Aussie for all it matters. Same if it sucks.

But if you're determined to do another expose'.....maybe you could do MotaRebel - then credit the dutch for herijuana. :spew:
