If a job requires something specific, like looking like John Wayne, it's not discrimination against those that don't look like John Wayne because discriminating against people based on looking like John Wayne isn't against the law. As @ cannabisdreams said, neither is discriminating against LGBT people for being LGBT. I've already acknowledged that, the purpose of the thread if you took note of the title is based on personal opinion. "Do you think religious people should have the right to discriminate against atheists?". Apparently some people do.What if the job opening was a movie ,,and it was about John Wayne? should the producer be forced to hire a Asian to play John Wayne?
The Asian might be totally qualified , a great actor and all, but hes not 6 ft tall and white? what then?
What if the Asian looked just like John Wayne but spoke terrible English and his John Wayne voice sounded like Hop Sing on Bonanza?
So again, to clarify, jobs that require something specific to complete the job that aren't against the law like race, religion, sex, etc. technically aren't discriminatory, but do you think employers should have the right to choose not to hire atheists because they don't agree with their beliefs? If so, what do you think gives them that right? What beliefs are not subject to discrimination regardless of an employers religious beliefs?
