Aeroflo Question

I have an aeroflo 60 site aeroponics system. Question is the tubes that squirt out the water should they be pointed down on an angle to the water or direct at the roots?

1½" of water and the spray on the roots trippy ...... Its airopnoics not dwc

dwc is deep water , the roots are in the water , your roots dangle in thin air and get sprayed by oxygen nutrient enriched water ........ Is this your big main system or your smaller cloner or are these your mother plants ?? Im abit lost off your SOG plans taking clones from your 3 mothers in soil.

This is my large 60 site aero .

Also there is not enough sprayers to spray direct on the cups...

Instructions say to point the stream on an angle into the water which i assume is for the mist.

I have it at 2 inches. Should I lower to 1.5 inches from the bottom ?

Yes I know its not DWC but Im just concerned in the future when the roots get larger will they not get subed in the water and be an aero dwc?

There is lots of oxygen with my pump and going to get airstones for my rez soon.

if this is yours (which isn't the 60 one ) then the sprays angle down to the water ( which will flow with gravity back to the res .

your roots will just follow the flow of the water as they get bigger

have you got pics of your 60 airoflow system?

Not mine thats the aeroflo One.

Here is a video of mine exact same one.

Just really wondering if I should raise my water to hit the bottom of the cups at about 3 inches or keep it at 2 inches.

Just want to make sure my plants are getting the nutes without drowning the plants.Plus doing it the right way the first time is always best

your pots don't want to be in the water , what your doing now is fine so long as the roots are getting wet and you see growth . the air between the surface of the water and the bottom of the pot is important for nuts uptake(and other things but don't qoute me on this) but the gap between is imporatant so long as your roots are getting wet and you see growth then the'll be good .

got any pics of your big 60 site airoflo system ?

Thats what I thought. Ill snap some pics yes and put them here.
I dont have 60 sites up yet just two sites as I showed you.
Will have them up in the next little while once I can cut clones.

They are crossed already see some new root groth. I had to lower it to 1.5 inches as it was too high and had to level out the legs on the aeroflo as they were not pushed in all the way which created a angle.

WIll update you.
PS I am doing an outdoor grow as well mate.

30 plants. Promix.

From all the seeds I have left.

I suggest you run the water touching the bottom of the cups. This system is better NFT style. I have 4 of the 60 sites, pain in the ass to clean arnt they ;) Have your sprayers pointing to spray into the water, this water will also cause the water to bubble clearly oxygenating it. Hope this helps hit me up if you have any problems.

When you first put your plant in you need to make sure that the roots are kept wet and that's really about it. Within a few weeks the entire bottom of the rail will be covered in a mat of roots. The water will run over the roots just like in a traditional NFT system. At that point your timer has more of an influence in water/oxygen ratio. The more air time, the more O2.

Oh yea, make sure you have some way to deal with all the water when those hoses fuck up. I know... it's not going to happen, just do it to make me happy, thank you. I have some good fucking stories! Or should I say I have some good stories of fuck-ups!

Your right. Those aeroflo systems are a huge pain in the ass. Possibly the worst design ever lol.

Drop the riser as soon as you can, so there isn't as much solution in the tubes.
This setup is bad ass because you can put a "just rooted" cut into it while riser is up, and it's almost DWC. It's also bad ass because once you pull the riser, it's a kick ass massively oxygenated nft/ almost SWC.

Why in gods name would you want to stop the flow in one of these tubes? So your roots sit in stagnant nutrient solution? I don't get it.
