Islam: Evil or misunderstood

Muslims are just people with a different take on the world. If we (the United States) would amend our foriegn policy to stay out of muslims countries and their business, I'd bet they'd come around in a few years. It is only the hardliners that propose violence against us anyway. Most Muslims are just like us in many ways, just poorer. Religion is not the main problem on planet earth, it's poverty.

One of the things that blew my mind is over in the middle east chirstian and muslim neighborhoods which were side by side, had less problems than they do here or in europe. Over there people dont seem to care. Its politics that causes the trouble. They go to school, hang out, and hit on girls together, but when i watch the news it seems like they are constantly killing eachother.

I still giggle when i show people picks of my trip to jordan and they say, was it dangerious? were you scared and did you feel safe? Its funny

Yes, my (FUCKASS) representative knows EXACTLY how I feel. He's going to vote against it. And I informed him that his insistence upon continuing this type of War on Drugs is why I plan on doing everything I can to discredit him and make sure he never holds any seat ever again. Dan Lungren is such a fucking twat... but, at least he replies to me personally. (More'n I can say for Feinstein)

yes...its about the rituals and practices thet get mistaken and obscured over years and centurys of handing down....some people take it for what it says in there holy book of choice and some people misconstrue what is written to suit their own agendas.....my wife is reading this book right now..something like eat drink pray....im not sure on the exact title...but anywhooooooo....it tells of a story about either a hindu or muslim man.i know there is a big difference ut i was high when i read it...all i know it takes place in that part of the world.....any ways.....this man was a spiritual leader of his community and everyday he would go into his holy place and meditate on god and improving contact with him....there was this cat that liked to hang around while he was meditating and make noise and be dissruptive...to solve the problem the man would tie the cat up out side so he would not be disturbed during the hours that he was meditating..well this became an everyday thing and over the years as people would join the holy man in prayer they would take note of the ritual of tying the cat up...after a few years the man passed on but the cat remained...still being tied up to the pole whenever the people would go into the holyhouse and pray....one day the cat died and the people were did not know what to do...after so many years of tradition for the sake of peace and quiet the cat had become a religious meaning for them and thought they could not pray anymore because they had no cat to make contact with god....i thought this perfectly describes how religion can get corrupted and misconsrued...

To the point where disdain of the entire religion is acceptable, in my opinion. If they want to hold the views they do, regarding inferiority of women, fine. But to consider them, muslims as a group, on par with freedom loving humans, who see their mothers, sisters, and daughters as equals, seems irrational. They are truly inferior beings, the majority of died in the wool muslim men, with an oppressive mentality which they wish to spread. No wonder Libs always defend them.
