do you have a problem with min wage being 10-12 an hour...hell lets split it and just say 11. also full time workers get benefits. with full time constituting 30 hours a week ?
$11 would be a great min wage. a full time worker could get by with all the basic dignities of life on that wage. it wouldn't be glamorous, but they wouldn't be standing in a welfare line at the end of the week.

I support the idea that workers should earn the majority of the value their labor produces. Not all of it, otherwise business wouldn't be possible and there would be no incentive to start one

I don't believe $11/hour is enough. If you're a small business owner employing less than 20 people I believe you should pay them what you decide as long as it's above the national minimum wage, if that amount doesn't equal the amount necessary for that employee to live according to minimum customary standards ("living-wage line") the remaining amount should be subsidized by the government via progressive tax reform

A good employer would increase your hourly wages based on production and your job.
I just posted a chart that says exactly the opposite; productivity rises, wages stagnate
Some jobs are not about what YOU produce anyway. Tell me what does a greeter at walmart produce ? What about the cashier ?
If a job isn't valuable enough to pay a living wage, then that job isn't valuable enough to exist

WOW so you want to fire all the Walmart greeters and cashiers. I hate self checkout and my greeter is a sweet older lady who likes to wear a lot of pins.

Dude you're trying to have an adult conversation with imbecilic highshool kid.

Ask him what he thinks of business models.

That "three bedroom house on a burger flippers wage" must have been when I defined the living wage in the very first post of the thread:

"Living Wage - a wage on which it is possible for a wage earner or an individual and his or her family to live at least according to minimum customary standards"

If earning a living the honest way was so easy for you, why did you decide to break the law and end up in federal prison?

You're a walking contradiction
You don't understand the difference being making money working and making money while on a permanent vacation? And you question MY intelligence.

If you could make as money sitting on your ass as you do busting your ass which would you choose?

How the fuck can a felon make a living wage?

"a wage earner or an individual and his or her family" - What if that family includes 4 children? How many bedrooms would they need?

Minimum wage has not risen along the same lines as inflation. That I will agree with. On the other hand ... Those who try to make a career out of a minimum wage job, and then cry about it, should just kill themselves.

@sheskunk

That's kinda funny.

To think, I thought everyone on this forum has broken the law at some point by growing cannabis.

I didn't realize what a special case you were.

(sit on my couch)

Tell me, how does that make you feel?
I feel awesome! :)

The crazy part is a fat, racist, ex con snitch on federal probation can be released from prison and immediately find work making a living wage. How the fuck is that even possible when some many good, honest people are struggling to even pay their bills?

You're a bad person for believing you're better than poor people

Good people don't hold themselves above anyone, especially not for the size of their bank account

You truly deserve everything you get in your life, I mean that sincerely

Yet you hold yourself above me and many others, just on this forum alone.

Kill yourself.

I wouldn't have hired them in the first place. But since Walmart did, apparently they've deemed that position valuable enough to exist, so if it's valuable enough to exist, it's valuable enough to pay the employee a living wage
seriously jobs should be paid by it's worth. Now I will say our national min wage should be 11 an hour. You can't get me to sign on paying someone 23.50 an hour to watch some washing machines and hand out some change.
Pay $11 if that's what you want, the rest is subsidized. You still pay exactly the same

Tax Breaks for Employers Who Hire Felons

For those working over 400 hours the credit is 40 percent of wages.

if your wage was only 60% of what it is, how happy would you be?

So you decided to break the law so you wouldn't have to work hard, but you call poor people lazy?

Yeah, I definitely question your intelligence there, skippy..

Who's trying to make a career out of a minimum wage job?

You're so bad at life it's hilarious
