Thank you , it feels good to hear that from someone who has grown before. Yes the dome is outside in a corner where it doesn't get direct sunlight and stays in the shade. The sun rise on the front side of the house and angles back over my lawn and I have a big oak tree that provides indirect sun to that spot. It will get some direct light though now that I think of it, like 30-45 minutes worth. Would it be better to stow it in my garage? Which its always humid during the day in there but gets room temp at night
I have never tried cloning outside with natural light. I don't see a reason not o though. But ANY direct sunlight on that dome wont be good. I burnt about 30 tomato plants in the cold frame this year. When completely closed at night the lid gets covered with condensation. It was it cooler and the temps in the frame were good so I was working on my cabinet all morning. I went out at noon and when I opened the frame over half my starts had nasty brown burns and them. I added a layer of black landscape weed fabric to the top to eliminate being direct exposure when the lid was closed. It was actually better. It still gets all (or more heat) and enough direct light filters through the cloth that they exploded with growth.

I'm Jonesing here. I have seen the girls in the cabinet for exactly 3 minutes in the last 48 hours.
@cannabisdreams After talking about "cool and dry" I made a few changes. Mainly chilled the ambient room to about 61 deg. It was time to feed so I fed full out again. Babysitting day and I was busy until after lights out.
So while feeding I looked things over, cleaned out the used up leaves, admired the crystal formation, thought I hope the AK makes it another two weeks. Yesterday morning I opened the cabinet and it had several totally yellow leaves on the PK......but its foliage was gorgeous dark green and the leaves shown like the were polished all soft and silky. the AK looked about the same. Temps have stayed no higher than 72 daytimes and down to 60 at night. RH is up there though due to reduced exhaust flow to lower temp (sound funny but ya it works that way with my setup sometimes) Lights have been on for almost an hour and I can't get in there to work. I will kill the lights and bring in some florescent to get good pics today though. I saw some color on a few pistols last time so I am chomping at the bit to go see today.

Thanks. Those pics were a couple of days ago and ive got a few more. of the whole setup except my new/old original flowering cabinet, which I am trying to upgrade to 600watt. Heat is killing me and Im at 300 watt on an adjustable ballast.

Yay for the PK! I bet if its that cold in there all the pistils will turn colors. How are you getting the room so cold? Single AC unit? Might be worth checking this thread out since you like to make stuff.... I can't wait to do one myself.

Yep. Single AC window unit. set at 65. Turned the fan down and opened the door to the cab a few inches. I made several prototypes like that one (which worked best) and with all the exhaust I am running for the full 600 watts it just wasn't enough volume. It helped alot that the temps dropped to the high 60's during the day and mid to upper 40's at night. Although this is less than perfect for the outside girls, they are not showing any adverse signs. A cold night here and there doesn't bother me but 5 or 6 in a row is different.
I got some good pictures with fluorescents this morning, I will inundate you with then when I get to sort them tonight. You are correct about the color change. Big difference than last time I looked.

So the auto focus on the camera needs slapped. Over half what I took would have been a waste of good film.
Here are the best I got of the PK.

Nice Pics! I'm no good at this part... those look clear to me but some could be called 'cloudy'... what do you say?
Agreed - mostly clear. Even with the microscope its hard to see.
Notice the burn on some of the PK leaves since last feeding. At least its localized.
I still believe the all yellow leaves are just being used.

Yeah, I dont think those yellow leaves are of concern. You think burn? I was kinda thinking nutrient lockout... i started getting those copper spots when i messed w the pH... it got way better after i flushed with a couple gallons of regular strength nutes and superthrive... the spots didn't go away but it didn't spread and I have tons of new pistils and healthy new leaves.

Lockout did cross my mind. I want to take them both outside and give a good flush. Im in 7 gallon pots with about 6 gallons of soil. I doubt I will put 18 gallons through them. My rain barrel has been very odiferous and I am leery about using it. I was counting on rain so I could drain and refill. It just needs time for the microbes to get right and without rain it gets stagnant, and with all the pollen it kind of ferments. Since it didn't rain I drained about 10 gallons and refilled with water from the hose. I am counting on the chlorine in the water helping and will oxygenate a gallon in the morning see.
Lockout - a lot of my issues could very well be PH. With rainwater out of the picture when I fed I used the regular 25 hour sit them oxygenate overnight. after mixing nutes the PH was high at just over 7. I contemplated for awhile and then decided to add a little vinegar to adjust. 1/4 tsp to a gallon. Shook it good and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Checked ph - 6.5 -- woot! woot! Watered with it. When I got done in the room for the morning I checked the PH in the pot. 8.0......WTF.... Counting on the soil to buffer itself as usual I did not address it. Well I then didn't get to even look at them for a whole day. I hope rain water is good tomorrow. Its time to Flush!!!

You did exactly what I did when things went wrong.... u used vinegar to adjust the pH....... 7 is fine in soil. My tap water's pH is close to 8 so instead of vinegar, I just feed with every water... the ferts lower the pH and everybody is happy. I dont think vinegar is stable and I've messed my plants up TWICE doing it this grow. Try flushing with 1/2 strength nutes...a good gallon or two.

wow your pots are big... i use 2 gallon pots. I actually have three of mine in 1 1/2 gallon pots with too much perlite so i have to water daily.... that's good for me though... gives me something to do besides accidentally knocking buds off.

It looks like you got the temps down, bet they love you for that :bigjoint:
Was 74 deg in the cab today. What are the outside girls going to do when its 98 degrees this summer? :o They seem to react differently to natural heat. My past experience was always pretty much like tomatoes. They like it hot, with lots of water to drink.

I've read that vinegar is unstable but wasn't looking for a long term solution. Its a wonder I haven't killed them already. The ones I neglect are "growing like weeds" Live and learn. And I have been trying to learn a lot this year.
As you can see if I had my stuff dialed in just two plants the size these were going in, without thinning, would not fit in the cabinet. The PK has a much better root base. She drinks a gallon a day, probably more if I would. I was thinking about a 5 gallon flush then another gallon of 1/2 strength. Then let them feel the sunshine for a few hours. Might be tricky getting the PK through the door.

Its already hitting 90 here and maybe rains once a week if we're lucky... i have to outside in direct.. zero chance for shade alllllll day .. sunlight and they are happy as clams. I think you are right, they react differently to natural heat.

If I did that they'd come back in with bugs and who knows what else. flush them and neglect them ! lmao! the things we put our lovely ladies through... if mine survive it will be a miracle.

I'm going to be pretty proactive with the bug prevention. Big tree round sections just cut, with a 12 x 20 tarp. center of yard not under any trees. Probably the best I can do. But now you have me thinking about an extended stay being .....questionable. We will see how I feel at the time I suppose.
