All day I've seen the same nonsense being repeated on facebook..."they died so we can be free" or "remember our hero's" and I'm here to tell you that it's all bullshit. What's the difference between these people and the muslims who perpetuate the notion that if you blow yourself up, if you martyr yourself you'll die and honorable death...remembered by friends and family as a hero, a fighter for justice and truth! The answer? There is no difference. Don't both of these parties realize they're just doing the bidding of a small group of men trying to take or keep power? Over 54,000 americans died in vietnam...is that why I have "freedom"?
Another 5000 or so died in Iraq and Afghanistan and over a Trillion dollars wasted...am I free'er now?
All of these dead Americans, most not much older than teenagers, so millionaires could become billionaires.
If people really gave a fuck at all about dead Americans kids in uniforms they would stop electing people who so willfully throw them into the grinder. Reminds me of a line in a song..."I ain't no senators son"

Revisionist history. People think we joined WW2 because it was the 'moral and just thing to do'. We got dragged into that war after pearl harbor. People act like we banded our forces and rushed off to europe and the pacific to 'save the jews and liberate the french!'
Even still, I can look at WW2 and think it was probably the right thing to do, even with such a high cost. However, WW2 was the catalyst for the military industrial machine that we see today. They tasted the profits of war and it's been all propaganda ever since.
They use those deaths and tragedies of the 40's to sell war to us today. "Remember those great men of a lost era?! They were hero's and you can be too! All you have to do is die in another country with a uniform on! Honor, glory, valor, rah rah rah!"

And furthermore there are dictators all over the world who would take others freedom if we allowed them to go unchecked , its our obligation as a superpower to help smaller countrys retain their freedom , had France not helped us you'd have a queen on your tax rolls right now but you dont .

It's a total travesty!! I would think that someone who lost a loved one because they were used as a pawn for power brokers would be as outraged as I am. I have lost friends and family and I don't mourn their death as some nobel sacrifice made for the good of others...I see it for what it is, and the more people who continue to lie to themselves and spew the same propaganda the longer the cycle continues.
