That's alright. I appreciate that some folks stopped by in an attempt to be helpful. This is my first grow so obviously i dont want to go bananas with nutrients and mess something up. Combine that with my experienced buddy telling me hes going to hook me up with a resilient strain that doesnt prefer large amounts of nutrients, I think i'll go with GH maxi and see how that works out.

Personally I'd go with MG, Peters, Jacks or any nitroform blue fert. Its cheap and effective. In the end all chemical fertilizers are delivered in the form of salts and the only thing that makes one different from the next is your inability to tell the difference.
Oh, and the huge cost disparity. Read the labels carefully and use a different rate for indoors than you would use for outdoors. Generally half as much inside. Many labels won't even state that and new growers wouldn't know.

Ive never personally used it in hydro or even in a res for that matter just because of what ive heard. But in an aero it would likely cause more clog to the misters, no?
the nova may clog jets, but the maxi series does not..ive used both in aero,, switched to dwc after i got sick of cleaning jets every 2 weeks..i even put a sock over the pump and still jets clogged either from roots above or tiny particles getting through the sock and pump...so the nova or maxi wasnt the problem i dont think,,,just had problems with clogged jets constantly..switched back to dwc and yields wer better than ever,, but i miss flood n drain,,ill go back to that soon...

remember your rooms enviroment is the number 1 priority for growing...enviroment,intake,exaughst,temps,first, second lighting, then nutrients,medium,ph...
if your room isnt light proof, wright temps, your going to fail regardless of nutes..
so many people start w gh and fail then blame the nutes,, i spent 5 years testing nutes in side by side tables,,gh is great,,newbys please get the ENVIRONMENT WRIGHT FIRST!!

I could definitely see floranova clogging the misters, the shit is thicker than all hell. Aero can be a bitch. Im leaning towards ebb and flow for my future grows.

I'm about to get my first batch of clones soon, and i'd really like a good cost effective nutrient set. I went to the hydro store the other day to get most of my stuff, and holy shit. Nutrients as far as the eye can see, every company has 10-15 different products. So what I am looking for is

1) solid, cost effective brand
2) easy to use line

Im new so I wont be getting 5 or 6 different products to grow the best shit in the area code. I'd like a straight forward 2 or 3 part nutrient set. I have a mentor, and he uses house and garden, but I've heard a little bit of hit and miss about that on these forums. Im not going with dyna gro because most people call it crap. But it is worth mentioning that the strains im going to start with from my mentor are going to be fast growing, low nutrient intake strains. such as Catatonic or Pitbull. I'd like something quality, and hear mostly good things about canna and advanced nutrients, but people are often complaining about price. So whats simple, effective. and not too expensive?
I would recommend general hydroponics trio. Very cheap and noob friendly. Get yourself a nice flower booster as well. And a cheap cal mag. Id say just g&h brand but than again im a noob and otherexperienced growers know more and what brands to buy. But i started with just the G&H trio and used organic garden lime for cal and mag With happy frog. And harvest were great and veg was amazing.

My dad works for a lawn company that has warehouses across the country full of round up, i dont think my $30 per a year of GH will make much difference. If you want to stop giving money to monsanto, you would have to never eat or pay taxes again.
