ectomycorrhizas or
ectomycorrhizae, abbreviated EcM) is a form of
symbiotic relationship that occurs between a
fungal symbiont and the
roots of various
plantspecies. The mycobiont tends to be predominantly from the
phylaBasidiomycota and
Ascomycota, although a few are represented in the phylum
Zygomycota.
