I get around 300 -350 g with the kind each runThat thing puts off 430w Jimmy.... You should get at least 200g on a bad harvest I would think.
hell no I aint sellin it! that thing is gonna be my vegmaster so speak! i would never buy another though! it was my 1st fixture.Sell that thing and build some COB DIY lights. 430w should still yield more than that.
Where did you get those square pots? I can never find them anywhere nearby. Do they cost any more than round pots? Square pots make more sense. Guess if I really want some I might have to order them off the innerwebs. My last Blurple grow, 4* 80W Hans panels. HSO Green Crack and DNA RockLock in 10L plastic pot, not a bad result i think.

Peace.
Blurple works, indeed. But the COBs work better and cheaper. I can't see any situation in which I'd prefer blurple over COBs.Blurple VS 1000 Watt HPS with time lapse. I did not point this out to insinuate that LED is better than HPS. The point is that Blurple grows. Not that it is better, but it works and has unique properties that may make it more suitable for some. Such as, they put out very little heat compared to HID and CFL. For a micro grower who isn't looking for great yields, especially cabinet growers, heat can be a pain in the ass. And it may cost even more money in watts to control heat. For commercial or someone who is looking to maximum yield/space/Watts? I dunno. HID or COB may very well be the better choice.
At the end of the day. Blurple does fine. That's all I gotta say bout dat.
TBHWU Don't care. Love me Blurple.Blurple works, indeed. But the COBs work better and cheaper. I can't see any situation in which I'd prefer blurple over COBs.
I hate it. Hurts my eyes.TBHWU Don't care. Love me Blurple.
I'm gonna build a COB sooner or later. Just because I've tried everything else why not. Really, I think where Blurples shine above the others are the heat issues. Especially for cab/tent growers. Just about every HID thread almost always includes controlling heat issues and often ACs and mini splits. Hell I like all lights to tell the truth. They all work fine. CFL is really my least favorite after the seedling stage, but lower wattage means less wasted elec for the little ones. I don't know but, I think adding some HPS to mine tightened up the buds a bit. After I build a COB I don't think I'll ever need to invest in any more lights lol.the thing I really like about the K5 series is uv/ir and I can control wattage from 0 to 430 in a shitload different settings. spectral control is unmatched! Its just expensive and very ineffiencent
HPS will generate less heat than cheap chinese blurple units just because the efficiency is higher. That means you can get away with dissipating less watts of electric power to get the same amount of watts in PAR. The idea that you will generate less heat with a less efficient lamp is breaking the first law of thermodynamics.I'm gonna build a COB sooner or later. Thanks man. They are from my favorite hydroshop (we call it "growshop" here), it's as cheap as the round one.Where did you get those square pots? I can never find them anywhere nearby. Beautiful pics BTW.
Blurple looks much cooler too. HaHa. I grow with Blurple swag bro.HPS will generate less heat than cheap chinese blurple units just because the efficiency is higher.
