you are pimping for KIND and talking about koolaid class act man
"magical spectrum"
I'm not pimping anything. I use their lights, and I am very happy with the results. Which I document and share happily. I don't have any experience with other lights, so I can't speak to them.

I haven't seen a thorough comparison done with all the major brands like this, so I shared it. Isn't that the point of these forums? My bad if that's not the case. Sorry I didn't build it myself.

You're right, it is just 'another option'. However it's an option that reduces power consumption over standard china led panels using low quality components. The CXA series performed well enough to sway greengenes707 from his coveted apatche tech panels(that he used to beat his own HPS benchmark) and start his own company utilizing the latest CXB series of chips.

So enjoy your micro grow, at your scale, it wouldn't make much difference anyhow.

Many like the CMH HID bulbs, having the spike in the UV range is kinda nice.

Can you direct me to where I can get a CMH bulb for a floralux HPS 150? I am yet to find anyone that can. And I've googled the crap outta it. Thank you.

I don't know the dimensions of the reflector, but this might work. Just have to replace the mogul socket with a G12 socket (a few screws). The 930, and 942 spec bulbs are supposed to be better though.

Yeah man. I think a lot of this COB hype are just noobs touting build your own because they ain't got nothing else going on in life. They are really really proud of their jacked up COB. They cut up a plastic fence post from Home Depot and put it together. Or its hanging by wires from a plug or something. I think there is plenty of time before a real engineer puts together a light that is designed for MJ. I'm not buying all this "full spectrum" either. Plus I am yet to see a grow that's inspiring. Most seem like any other grow using any other light which is cool. It works. I am not believing the BS noob hype though.

Anyway, like I said. I'm not gonna be a guinea pig. I may someday build one just cause I got an electrical background. But, I want a light truly designed and tested by engineers before I shell out any real dough. Why? Cause like you. I got a job and can afford to pay someone else to build some legit and safe stuff.

Not a Home Depot fence post.

Furthermore. It seems like I'm already getting hella dank with what I got. LED, HPS and CFL. Why am I even chasing lights still?
You are really shitty at math.....America's Debt class....take a bow

What? How am I flinging Kool-Aid?
How can you do a thorough comparison when the Kind lists neither the bin or output of the LED's they offer....take off the blinders please.....

The one common thing that Quality companies keep getting repped around here for....They actually reveal their parts and components they use, NO Secrets!

Or you can keep buying a 150watt light that is being advertised as a higher wattage and is being price-fixed [aka sucker price] and you still don't even know the electrical characteristics of the lamp......

[head shake]

what ever happened to the smart consumers? Is a fancy slogan all that is needed any more to fool even the self described "knowledgeable".....?

Don't be hating on @SomeGuy... he's the very reason I got into DIY COB-crafting, which gave way to Heaven Bright. His fence post design was intended to save money, produce quality bud, and was overall brilliant in my eyes.

@bicit - Thank you for the kind mentioning. To add to the conversation, HB is currently open for sale, so Optic isn't the only COB-infused fixture producer out on the market.

If any of you we're wondering why there are hardly any pictures on the website for the Model-V fixtures, it's because I decided it would be best to open early before any name brands steal the show; I'll have photos of some, if not all, the Models uploaded next week, with a video or two!

Stay tuned and keep growing, folks!

So do you got a side by side, perhaps a time lapse? I want to see some real evidence that these things can live up to the hype. Right now, all these noobs spewing the DIY crap has only convinced me this is a fad. But, from a business perspective I can understand that money can made from selling into the fad. I ain't hatin bro. I think they probably work. Are they better? I've been through all this with the HID vs LED, Induction vs CMH. Whatever vs whatever. Choices. There are a lot of them. I see peeps all the time who achieve great results with all of the lights. I am doing very well and am satisfied. I don't even need a light but, I find myself caught up in this hype, the fad. lol. You really need better cheerleaders tho. The ones you got are weak. lol

But you must not have a full time job and adult responsibilities;)
Over simplify much? You still need to shop for and gather all the parts and tools, research how to build one, put it together. Fix it down the road if you make a mistake...so on and so forth.

Have you ever bought a sandwich? Did you know you could make one cheaper yourself, and it's easier than strapping on your velcro shoes.

To each their own. If you want to make your own, great. Don't bash me for buying one. And don't talk shit because I like it.

There are plenty of commercial growers using main stream LEDs from the companies mentioned with great results.

Does anyone have any input on the lights in the video, or are there only people here intent on hijacking the thread?

Message......and you can't put together Lego's? You making this sound like actual work...somebody's ten year old helped put a light together....it isn't all that hard you make it out to be....I will go...

Cree CXA or Bridgelux Vero for the win...either is dandy.
