How many grams are you getting from your 400W, and in what area? I pulled over 1.1g/W over my last grow, and I considered it a weak run. Over 240g from a 240W lamp, in a 2x4.

I don't believe you can pull better results with your 400W kind than you can with a 600W hps. I'm calling BS.
I harvest next week. You're welcome to watch my results.
.
I pulled about 400 grams last time, just over 14oz. My light runs on 320w. You do the math.

Edit: That's in a 2x4 cabinet. And I expect to do better this time.

Grams per watt can be deceiving sometimes, especially if your comparing different strains and grow styles. I use it but it gives me something to judge the different lights I've used with the same strain and or grow style. You can't compare grows with different lights unless you keep everything else the same like GG did with HPS vs Apache Tech. I can say that every time I've increased my efficiency I use less watts and get a higher GPW. Quality and power use which includes cooling are what made me decide to go all LED. I just had one of my clone only strains potency tested at a dispensary and they told me it was the highest test of that clone only strain to date and that clone only strain had been tested many times by them,it was COB grown.

that's not a very good argument considering how old that technology is and that's why so many have moved on
dang, my clw 220 is already old? I just bought it a couple of harvests ago. Oh well, if everybody has moved on I guess I'll just follow. Let me know when I am supposed to buy a new light, and if it's not too much trouble the exact model number and price. I want to keep up with everybody that is moving on.

If your happy with what you have I would take your time and upgrade when it makes sense for your situation. If your looking to lower your electric bill and or your fighting temp issues then it may make sense to upgrade your efficiency.

With the Steep Hill equipment at this dispensary it tested 26.2% THC,SH equipment seems to have lower numbers than other types of labs so I'm waiting on results from a dedicated testing lab with different and better equipment, should have those numbers along with a terpene profile next week.

Gotta post pics of the scale with claims like that.

Check my threads. I used to have links in my signature, not sure what happened.

Maybe it's just cause I'm on my phone.
So I just combed all your threads, no pictures of the dry/cured weight on a scale. While it looks like some nice plants it also certainly doesn't look like 14oz dry. So pics or it didn't happen.

Ebay shopping list....

How not to be a sumbass for retards.
9 Vero 29's with"pot pie" pan reflectors. 4 wks veg 4 wks bloom. Pot pie, get it.....:bigjoint:
Great. Well, not really great. But, looks like a decent average grow. Just like all of the other decent grows I see. No one disputes that plants need light to grow. Or that COB will grow. Heck, you can pull a decent grow like that off with CFL, HID, Blurple, Induction. You name it. There are a lot of choices. And anyone can pull off a decent grow. So what is the point?

I think you noobs pumping this COB spreadsheet crap have done it more harm than good. The more pics you throw out, the more average the light seems and the less impact all the noob hype carries. I was once curious about the COB. Now I'm just like. Whatever. I'll probably not even waste my time and money testing one out for myself. Just seems like a waste after seeing photos.

@dandyrandy I mean nice grow dude. Nothing special or particularly eye opening. Everyone is getting decent yields. Plant looks healthy. Good job. Coulda done the same with Blurple or HPS though. Some of the real experts could have done as well with CFL even. Maybe better who knows?

At the end of the day. This COB crap is getting boring.

I just stopped using blurple. Relax. Everyone is different. I find the SLH finishes 2 wks earlier. It's in the back. I will get 12 zips of just bud from a 42 x 46 inch area in soil. I'm just growing for myself and a friend I work with. I would use an hid or ceramic if not living in a state that I live in. We use different lights for different reasons. At 60 years of age I can't easily move so here I am.

Hell yeah! That's been my point all along. We use different lights for different reasons. It's not a one size fits all solution. They all work. I love all the lights. Don't really care what anyone else uses. But, watching these COB noobs trash other LED users threads is stupid.

I actually started back around 4 years ago with 4 Chinese 180w LEDs. Actual draw. They worked good. I had trouble with reliability. And for me that is bad. Lot's of 3w led failures. I bought extra lights while I repaired mine. I work in electronics so no big deal once the sent a list of diodes. Not naming names as far as brands. I needed LEDs for my situation. Basement stealth, and very low noise. So I only need around 70 cfm to keep the area cool. Now I can hit 900 w if I like and I do. I crank it the last 3 to 4 weeks and It has cut my time down by 2 weeks. But whatever works. I use Peters bloom nutes. Nothing fancy. My grows I want simple. I wish I lived in a legal state. Maybe this year I will if things pass. The I can grow outside. I have an acre of garden. Pouring rain here now. Peace all. Take it from an old man.

Haha my first LED is a Chinese 45 x 3 watt no name I got in 2010 or 2011. Never had a problem and have used it alone for a single and gotten decent yields, fantastic smoke. Second light I got maybe 12, and it was sold by the same people who call themselves Mars these days. 60x3 watt. Never had a problem with it. Also used CFL's and bought an induction. They all work fine. Now I've got a HPS and use the old Blurples for supplemental. Works great. Nice tight buds, tightest ever. Quality is over the top. I think with what I've learned I will go with combining different types of light from now. Seems to work best, at least for me. I'm done chasing lights. It's almost like a fetish to want to try the new thing. In my experience, the final product is a sum of the balance of everything put into the grow. Not just lights but a combination of lights, nutes, feed schedules and other techniques that determine the outcome. No single attribute will miraculously increase the success. It's a matter of balance. Too much marketing hype going on. Noobs are buying into this crap too much.

KISS is my method. Hempy bucket and Lucas formula. It's so easy and cheap it's really hard to mess up.

Actually several were mars. The 300w (180 actual) has a design flaw. 3 fans but no heatsink in the middle. Very noisy too.

And yet my 110 actual does fine and never had an issue. Seems like the Mars are about the most pop LED out there? Maybe because they are inexpensive and effective. Back to square one. Different choices for different reasons. I agree. Mine are kinda noisy. Spend more money I guess and get a quieter light?

At the end of the day. If you are happy with what you are doing and getting satisfactory results that's great whatever you use. That's the goal.

Where are the pictures?

That's a big haul for that area.
While I do not believe his 400g claim in a 2x4 area with that LED light, you can get that much weight in that area. I have a 2'x5' area and I pulled 588g with a 1000w HPS. Just pulled 487g with 400w of COBS.

I do not believe for a second though that his shitty 320w LED is pulling 400g in a 2x4. I have 2 lights, 200w covering a 2'x2.5' area each so I have good spread. With 1 light, there is no way LED could produce that kind of a result given the spread and shit ass LEDs used. Id bet pulling 1g/w would be a chore.
