If you're gonna do this, you gotta come to terms with it and learn to relax. When you drop a seed you've made your choice. So get over the paranoia cause it will never do you any good anyway.
You have to be able to enjoy it to get the most out of it. Good luck.
My way of relaxing is leaving zero paper trail :) I'm still liable to some tripping, but I'm doing alright :)

And thanks everybody! I love how you guys started a whole argument about the merit of an analogy  Seriously I learned a whole bunch about pharmaceuticals

As to "supplemental nutrients" I've tried a lot of different things. Some of them, technically, can increase yield. However, this is usually the result of inducing fox-tailing. I'll take the tiny bit of lower yield without the fox-tails. Maxi series, GH 3 part, Dyna-gro, Floranova, these have all worked well for me.

This is my first post, I had to make an account just so I could respond to this. I'm so tired of people hating on AN if you don't like their marketing fine but respect the science. Where do you people get this information from about Advanced Nutrients! Listen I've learned a long time ago don't believe what people tell you take the time and do the research yourself, and you'll come to find that all of these additives play a important role, can you go without them of course....but with good genetics, good light, the right environment, and good base nutrients plus the right additives plants can reach their full potential!

Do you see commercial greenhouses using water bottled nutrients?! NOOOOO!

Sorry, but this seems to be a recurring theme today.

The plants only want a limited number of nutrients, in about the same ratios. So why pay more than you need to?

Green house uses something like fox farms cha Ching on everything it has lower N
Cost like 5$

Science? There is no science, only hype targeted towards sucker bets.

And speaking of science, go get you some. Plants don't need any additives or supplements, they require the basic 13 beneficial elements to perform like what you'd find in an all in one product like Dyna-Gro Foliage Pro. Wise up, you drank the cannabis specific Kool-aid and are setting your self up for failure. Seen it a million times and always ignorant noobs who are driven towards the hype. The worst looking gardens I've seen over my 15+ years of cannabis forums memberships has been from folks that used cannabis specific nutes.

You write like AN is honestly on YOUR side. They are not.

If I was you I'd spend an hour or so reading up on plant nutrition.

Its all about the money at the end of the day these companies are out to make it.....trust me I do just fine of my cheap hardware store nutrients as stated earlier. Even better than my old days of getting ripped off using hydro specific crap. Trial and experimentation has been my best friend.....dont believe the hype people

should follow your own advise and not believe what AN is selling you,I mean telling you. Do some more research or get some better research skills, OR, get off AN's payroll.

There is no science behind the there products? Who the fuck brainwashed you! Here we go again people making assumptions, I know that plants don't need additives but if you have everything else dialed in additives can really help your plants reach their full potential. Ignorant noob huh, I have 20 years of knowledge under my belt, you're the one talking like a neophyte. You say I act like AN is on my side, lol are you serious I know there on nobody's side they're just trying to put the best product out there with the most eyecatching marketing so they can make money that's the goal for any company! Look man fuck what you're talking about stop the hate let knowledge be your guide, the proof is in the pudding, pic was taken at 50 days old from seed 21" tall 26" wide. IMG_20150619_134619.jpg

I get that kind of action in 3 weeks from the time the seeds begin punching thru the soil's surface using Walmart brand fertilizer. For example:

I notice you have spots of leaf scorch which is usually nute related.

No leaf scorch that's just the reflection of the water I had just given them a little shower in that pic. You're great grower there's no denying that, but everybody has the right to their own opinions, it's almost like when you talk about nutrients in the marijuana community it's like talking about religion everybody thinks they've got the right one lol

Ooooh ooooh my turn

In 2012, the FDA conceded that several generic antidepressant medications had never been tested and one was pulled from the market.

A company that makes a generic drug must show that its version of the drug is 80%-125% “bioequivalent” to the original brand name drug. For example: a brand name drug is taken and it is found that 100mg of medicine reaches the person’s bloodstream. For a generic version of the drug to be considered safe and effective, the active drug in the tablet or capsule must release between 80mg and 125mg reach the bloodstream (80-125%). This means that some companies might make generic versions that have 80mg reach the bloodstream and other companies might make generic versions that have 125mg reach the bloodstream. This difference isn’t a problem in most drugs. There are a few drugs, however, in which this can be an issue.

For example, some drugs are only safe and effective when the amount of medicine is within a small range in the bloodstream. This small range is called a “narrow therapeutic window.” This means that a small change in dose can cause a large change in the way the drug acts in the body. Below the therapeutic window, the drug is not effective. Above the therapeutic window, the drug could be harmful because too much drug is getting into the bloodstream. It is critical that the medicine be given in a dose that falls in the safe and effective range.

Let’s say a person is taking one of these drugs with a narrow therapeutic window. They have been taking a generic version of the drug that is 80% bioequivalent to the original brand name drug. After a few months, their pharmacy orders a generic version of the same drug that is made by a different company. This new version is 125% bioequivalent to the original brand name drug. This means that the new version of the drug could contain as much as 45% more active drug than the old version.

There are only a few drugs that have narrow therapeutic windows that need to be worried about. Some of these drugs include:

• Warfarin (used to prevent blood clots)
• Theophylline (used to improve breathing in people with asthma and other lung diseases)
• Phenytoin (used to prevent and treat seizures)
• Clonidine (used to treat high blood pressure)
• Quinidine (used to keep your heartbeat normal)
• Levothyroxine (used to treat low thyroid activity)

Most of the ingredients in a pill are not the active ingredient but other ingredients needed to hold the pill together, coat it, and control the way the pill delivers its drug in your body. These other ingredients can be different in a generic version of a drug. It is possible to have an allergic reaction or sensitivity to one of these ingredients. With some extended-release products, the brand name formula is still patented, so the generics may be completely different in their formulation. This can affect how fast or slow they release their drug and how this is affected by things like whether you take the pills with food or not.

FDA requires that the package inserts for generic drugs show the data (the “pharmacokinetic” data) from the brand name medication as if it is were based on the performance of the generic drug. In actuality, the data for the generic is typically different, but the FDA does not release this information.
