WEEK2 DAY19 OF VEG
So I got the new Nikon d3300 dslr camera and I'm still figuring it out so I went ahead an took a few pics with my phone till I'm able to get some nice ones with my camera. If anyone has some tips on taking pics under hps light I'd really appreciate some in put. She is still small but taking off like a rocket. These pics were takin Sunday an she has already grown a few more inches since then. But anyways here's what she looks like so far.

Been playing with the new camera an I got a new macro lens for it. Been getting some nice up close shots of the plants I harvested the past week. If I'm not to tired I'll go ahead an do an update of the PC tonight after work.

I took some pictures last night but the files are so big I can't upload them on here. So I'll have to change the picture size and quality a lil bit to make them smaller but I'll have some up soon.

No just my camera. I had it set on FINE an the files are 17-20mb each. I'll have crop them or just took new ones on the basic setting.

Try downloading a free cataloging software like Lightroom but free. I use Lightroom and just the ability of doing most editing in there plus being able to assign keywords, work with the meta data or not, change sizes physically and size as in space used by the image is such a helper once you got tens of thousands of images. Should check something like that out as soon as you can and start getting used to whatever you choose as soon as possible, that way most of your images from now till then, will be saved, searchable by keywords and/or folders structures. So much easier man.

alright I finally got some pictures uploaded. I added a couple up-close ones of a bud drying with the new lens. I can tell a difference but was hoping to get some clearer shots of the trichomes. I still need some practice with all the different scenes u can select from on the camera and getting the shutter speed and aperture and everything else right to get them super clear shots. going to be my new lil hobby I guess. I've always liked photography an I have a decent camera to use for it. anyways if she keeps growing as fast as she is ill be flipping to flower in about 2 weeks maybe less. the screen is about 1/3 full so far, ill wait till its about 3/4 full then flip. cant believe how fast she has takin off in the past week.

Aww yea, once you master that camera you're gonna get some crazy shots. Lovely buds there, nice and white trichomes

Remember. Higher shutter speeds to prevent blurriness on the image from movement and end up with as sharp an image as possible. 125 on a semi steady hand should be enough, a little more if not that steady.

Aperture , well most lenses optimal aperture for sharpness start at f/8. Go lower if needed. Not super low either.

Experiment with the on camera flash by putting a business card on an angle so that the flash hits a ceiling/wall then you subject. That will make the flash more flattering and prevent dark, contrasty shadows.

Just some tips for our own visual enjoyment.

Treat it like what we here for. YouTube is your friend. Don't dismiss anything. There is a bunch of people with tuts on youtube. Youll find quickly who the wannabe gurus are. Stay away from them lol

DAY1 OF FLOWER
been a couple weeks but I finally have an update on the pc. I switched over to flower yesterday, might of waited a lil to long on this one. screen is just about completely full. I veg'd this one 3 weeks longer than the last one so hoping that will help stretch out the lil shoots. the last one I had a bunch of lil shoots an I thought they would stretch during flowering but they didn't so that's why I veg'd this one longer. all in all this one is looking pretty damn good.

Hey Ghost, I have a question. How is your RH in that PC box? I'm sturggling to keep mine at 40%, sometimes it drops to 25% and that is way to low.

well ive been a little lucky on this one so far. its been raining a lot where im at so ive been keeping my windows open and the RH stays between 55-75%. but during the winter I put a humidifier in the same room and it stays around 60-70%. I would go get a humidifier for it. I was able to put mine right infront of my pc and put a piece of mylar tapped over the fan of the humidifier blowing into the pc and it helps bring down the temp and raise the RH at the same time. lmk if u have anymore questions ill try to help u out.

Thanks a lot for the help. I see you have a heavy duty humidifier. I'm going to have to get one of those, the one I have is a mini usb type, which is complete rubbish. I'll have to think of something.

So I didn't buy a humidifer, but while I was tidying up my garage I found this very old "communist" heater (I don't know if that is the name for it). It basically looks like a loop of metal connected to a plug for an wall outlet. What I did was I just stuck that into a pot full of water and after about an hour or so the liqud started to boil, thus raising the moisture significantly. Whenever I walk into the room where my PC box is located, I get "hit" by this wall of moisture. I'll have to make sure I don't over do it, I don't want the whole room to get moldy. Anyways, the moisture inside my PC box is now 53% and slowely rising (I never saw such a high number on my humidity gauge, so I'm very pleased). I'm aiming for about 60-70% then I'll turn the thing off.

I was checking out my temp station an it said that my RH topped out at 81% last Friday. So it's been a lil higher then what I thought. But are u in veg or flower? If your in flower then 40-50% is perfect but if in veg then Ya u want it around 60-70
