I drink a lot of water.. even with my meals.
I like to keep my pee clear and not yellow.
get yourself some flavoring and add a squirt to a bottle. it changes up the taste. and also grab a bottled water and keep it with you, before you know it , you drank it...refill or replace and do it again and again thru out the day.

cheaper then drinking pop and energy drinks for sure. and I like cheap

also, I do a pot of coffee in the morning daily, before heading to the gym. I re run the grinds after lunch for a 2 or 3 cup buzz to start the afternoon.

drink up! its good for ya

First thing I do when I wake up is down a bottle of water. It rehydrates the body, gets things moving throuh the colon, helps with kidney funtion, fights fatigue, boosts brain function. Its good for your skin, helps lubricate joints and hydrates muscles. Anyone with pain problems could benifit from drinking more water.
Your wife was right. Drink more water in addition to whatever coffee and sugary drinks you already drink. You'll feel better.

Coffee and beer both will hydrate you till you drink too much. Soda and all the sugar will dehydrate your body, as will smoking lots of weed, taking allergy medicine etc.

I would avoid soda in general. Nobody should drink soda, you can drink lots of different juices, beers, coffee, milk though not too much.. there are lots of options even watery foods, munch on a cucumber. Little things added in throughout the day help rather than you pissing out excess early in the morning before you get to work or whatever your day entails

My wife says that I need to drink more water. She actually might be correct. But how do you drink more water? It's so fucking boring. "Excuse me while I go drink this water". Boring. So what's the secret to drinking more water? Do you masturbate while you do it? Do you add something to it, like crystal light or cocaine? I drink about a pot of coffee a day. Does that count towards the total? My wife says no. But I know there's fucking water in there! So I need your help! How do I drink more water? What's your secret?
If you want a real refreshing drink that tastes great go for some sweet lemon iced tea

I
lived down south usa for years and lived on this stuff due to the high heat then when i moved to canada I turned my freinds onto this stuff during the summer and it blew everyones minds how good it is.

^right here is some of the best advice I've heard. Drink a glass right after getting up, drink a glass BEFORE every meal, preferable before you eat every time. It's not easy to start drinking water..especially if you drink coffee, soda, juice, energy drinks all the time. You just have to do it.. I did it over 10 years ago..all i drank back then was coffee, soda and beer, now i almost always have a mug of water with me, i won't buy bottled water.

I don't know why so many people are saying coffee counts towards water intake, it's a diuretic, and generally causes a net water loss. I had to cut back on my coffee because of that, the gallon of coffee i was drinking a day was literally making me sick from dehydration.

Just do it..you'll end up feeling so much better if you can drink a few glasses a day.

oh! and if you like soda..perrier lemon or lime flavor..i like the lime better.

most doctors don't like you counting other drink as water because many have caffeine which is a diuretic and defeats the purpose of hydration.

The warden in my house drinks a shit ton of water. Almost a gallon and a half a day. So much that she failed drug tests for her urine being too diluted a handful of times. She used to just drink it as water but lately she throws back a few of those la croix flavored sparkling waters.

I swear I've never seen a person drink as much water as her though.

Iced Tea always leaves a sugary taste in my mouth akin to sodas. Does Stevia eliminate that?
kinda, stevia has a flavor unto itself that may take some getting used to. if you buy, make sure you get pure stevia extract. I get either the Kal or Now brands. 4 oz. contains 2511 svgs per container.

What Counts Toward Hydration

http://www.isagenixhealth.net/hydration-how-much-water-do-you-really-need/

Optimal hydration can be reached through drinking various fluids and by eating water-dense foods.

Findings from a recent study from the Journal of the American College of Nutrition suggest that regardless of the fluids ingested, the body knows how to use them for optimal hydration (5). Researchers observed a group of healthy males, randomized to varying sources of hydration for 24 hours. They were randomized to either consume water, water and diet soda, water and regular soda, or water with regular soda, diet soda, and orange juice mixed. After testing the subjects’ urine for biological markers of hydration and dehydration, the scientists discovered that all of the men were adequately hydrated.

Coffee, despite some common beliefs, is also a good hydrator. While early research may have observed that coffee can induce urination in some people, later research confirmed that it does not in any way contribute to dehydration of any part of the body and it can be useful in providing hydration over the course of the day (1). Hydration through coffee, which is also positively associated with better mood and cognition, is a win-win in terms of both its hydrating and uplifting benefits.

Most recently, scientists have proposed milk and whey to be good sources of optimal hydration. In the Journal of Food and Nutrition Sciences, a study looked at the components of milk and whey proteins as an alternative source for hydration and rehydration after exercise. Due to the branched-chain amino acids, natural electrolytes, and longer feeling of satiety that whey-based foods offer, they are a superior source of hydration and rehydration . Whey-based protein recovery drinks and meal replacement shakes do count toward hydration and provide added satiety.

“Drinking caffeine–containing beverages as part of a normal lifestyle doesn't cause fluid loss in excess of the volume ingested. While caffeinated drinks may have a mild diuretic effect — meaning that they may cause the need to urinate — they don't appear to increase the risk of dehydration.

Still, caffeinated drinks can cause headaches and insomnia in some people. Water is probably your best bet to stay hydrated. It's calorie–free, caffeine–free, inexpensive and readily available”.
Katherine Zeratsky, R.D., L.D. Mayo Clinic Staff

“These findings indicate that a moderate caffeine dose, equivalent to approximately 5 espresso cups of coffee or 7 servings of tea, does not alter Total Body Water and fluid distribution in healthy men, regardless of body composition, Physical Activity, or daily water ingestion”.
Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism, 2013, 38(6): 626-632, 10.1139/apnm-2012-0253

“Regardless of fluid volume consumed, there were no differences between the beverages in providing adequate hydration over a 24-h period in free-living adult males. This suggests that the fluid contained in various beverages is equally effective in hydrating the body”.
