Dj Short 20 year old back stock seed sprout.

This is the 'F-K 3/4' #1 Its another back-stock seed sprout from Dj Short's genetic library. I assume it to be another 20 plus year old f3 pre-blueberry. I took pics a while back in veg and then transferred it to another growing location for another member of the collective I belong to to grow out. I also have a copy of the same plant going in my flower room and will most likely end up taking pics of both plants and adding them to this journal. I will label the plant at the other location as F-K 3/4 #1 and will label my cut in my room as the #2.

This is F-K 3/4 #1 approximately 4.5 weeks in flower. The flower light cycle is at 11 hours on and 13 hours off. The flower cycle for this plant was staggered. It's under a 1000 wt HPS and has side lighting from a T-5. Th T-5 has veg bulbs in it. The timer for the side lighting was not set correctly and the T-5 stayed in veg for about 6 days after the 1000 wt was switched to flower. This 'staggered' the flowering cycle of the plant and can be seen in the structure of the way the plant is growing. It's in a seven gallon pot, I believe. SDC18702.JPGSDC18717.JPG SDC18709.JPG

If you don't mind me asking, what is the reason behind the 11/13 schedule? I've heard sativas can be tamed by running such a schedule.

F-K 3/4 #2 in my flower room in a 2 gallon pot under a 400 wt HPS. 11 hours on and 13 off. Just finished 3rd week in flower. I wouldn't normally have it at 11/13 already, but it came in to the flower room late as other plants were finishing and this is just the light cycle I had available for her. It increases resin production and color. And as far as I'm concerned, it just inhibits much prettier flowers. Also the flower smokes much better. At 12/12 I tend to have more of that dark ash that won't burn in my bowl, at 11/13 it smokes better, tastes better and burns better. Also looks better.

And I don't mind, I love questions. ;)

Nice JD, those look amazing too, you are lucky to have access to these old world genetics!

I've run 11/13 for a few years and have to agree, especially with the blueberry or any blueberry cross. Seems to increase terpene production too :)

I ran 13/11 for a little over two years up till I shut down in January. I was running 13 day and 11 night and had no issues with it. It would be cool to do a 13/11 11/13 side by side test.

never thought to try this light sced, ive tried everything else, adjusting temps, room and res, nutrients, etc..trying to get the lavender blue colored buds with no successs..i get red stems, genetic i think, yellow, purple, red and every color between on leaves twords finish, but the bud color is never what im after..
havnt heard from u in awile, hope everythings going well..i accidentally included my address in our private chat,,,clumsy me..lol..

if you would like, i created a very special cross thats been in high demand in upper mi.. crossed a mr.nice shit mother with a bcbd fire og bx3 male, called it the fire shit and ive been working to stabilize it, i have second back cross seeds and would love to see what u could do with this strain,,as long as u credit me with the genetics..i refuse to share this strain with anyone else as ive put almost 2 years into it..but you have the know how of getting a strain noticed...if you are interested please privatly message me so we can talk..

@jdshort
dont let those douche bags get to you, in the ethics & seeds thread
there are peeps here that support you and dj short!
please give us an update on those old azz beans
lol..thanks, I always appreciate the support. I not too bummed over it all, I understand it's just business. Business and ego, two things I've never really been cut out for anyway.

The beans are good. The PFK#3 was successfully crossed with the PFK#8. Seeds of those are germinating now. There is no current release date for this strain, if ever....business will have to take a back burner to hobbies at this time. But that cross is currently being 'tested' out. I suspect it will fall closely in line with many of Dj's other strains, probably falling somewhere along the lines of Grape Krush or Blueberry, Blue Heaven or Blue Satellite.

The PFK#3 had a savory sweet candy berry smell to it. Kinda like sour Blueberry turkey gravy and had a pleasantly strong and euphoric buzz. Very excited about the progeny of this cross. I've kinda dropped out of the grow journals for the time being but may come back to this one because the idea of multiple generations of the same inbred strain being documented in this fashion really appeases me.

Several different cuts of the "F-K 3/4" were finished out in several different locations. The smoke was awesome. Heavy producer, deep silver purple color in the finished flowers and a gentle grape kool-aid sort of a smell. The buzz was uplifting and satisfying and the taste was awesome.

As well, I have [back]crossed all of my F5 Blueberry, F-13, and Grape Krush phenos with the F-4 stretch indica Blueberry male. Those will be my next 'hobby' pheno hunts.

I'd say give the light schedule a shot along with the decreased temps. Perhaps more phosphorus in flower? Maybe try different genetics? My trichomes never seem to amber up. It's the weirdest thing. Sometimes I like believing the plant just doesn't want to produce amber trichomes for me, like maybe it's my pheromones or something? lol, but seriously, sometimes I think the plants will only do what they think is best for us. Maybe the plant doesn't want me to have amber trichomes....weirder things have happened.

It depends on what beans they are and what their purposes were.

I'd deep freeze for long term storage, or just in the fridge sealed in an air tight container. Watch for condensation.

Anything I was planning to pass out or share would be stored at room temp. Germination success seems to decreases once thawed and then placed back into cold storage, and since I prefer to leave the option of cold storage to those I share with, and don't want to risk their germination success, I store at room temp and leave the option of cold storage up to them, without risking their germination success.

I agree man. I store at room temp in a box made for boating that seals air/water tight.
