Epsom salts

Adds calcium and N
Calcium and Nitrogen huh?

Just get Calcium Nitrate!!

Magnesium sulfate for Mg, Calcium nitrate for Ca and N. (in hydro at least)

Just don't mix the 2 together in a concentrated stock solution. The reason cal-mag+ uses magnesium nitrate instead of magnesium sulfate is because you can't mix sulfates and calcium in a concentrated stock solution without forming calcium sulfate precipitants. As long as they aren't mixed in a stock solution, it works fine. Magnesium nitrate is more expensive than Magnesium sulfate, and unnecessary.

not a good ideal
my tap water has high calcium and very low Magnesium so I need add some Magnesium (Epsom salts) to my plants a few times in veg and flower.

if i was to add cal-mag to my plant I would be adding more calcium inturn it would block the uptake of Magnesium so I would add more cal-mag making the problem worse as i think its down to magnesium deficiency

it would reduce the heath of my plants and give me a low yield

so if the OP knows it down to low Magnesium he need to use Epsom salts not cal-mag as this could mess his plants up
I was assuming that the water used to be pretty much balanced, and not too exceesive or depleatedted in any area. Different ballgame is you start with fucked up water. Is your water from a well? How did you determine your water had problems, send it to a lab? Nice job figuring that out, and it sounds like your plants are in good hands.

Jesus fucking Christ, all I fucking said was that Calmag was an easy solution to a Calcium or Magnesium def. I said it adds a little N, and now I hear from all these "experts" how "retarded" that statement was, and how wrong I was. Yea, everyone came up with the reasons and their recipes for success, and they were all righteous, congratulations. But coming after we like I was a newbie fool, that was not nice. This site is not designed that way, and you especially King Fuckng Arthur, who apparently, according to his profile seems to spend his entire, probably useless anyway life on this site. What do you do, live in your parents basement, because I can't figure out how anyone that has a actual normal existence (like a job or a partner), can spend so much time on a pot site. I guess this place is your life. Good, have fun, smoke another one, pull your probably fat fucking head out of your ass, and shut the fuck up, because all it shows is what a fucking dick you are.

No bro you did fine. You just got some info from some others about whats really what and why. Actually helped the thread. Good points on why not to use cal mag all the time when dealing with deficient elements. Great info for people in the last 5 pots really. We're all fucking learning now and i love it!!!!!!

Just buy quality nutes like dyna pro and don't look back. Never mind all of the extra bs and do it with premix and dyna.

Hi Doc, This sounds pretty interesting ;)
Would you happen to know how long this would store for if kept in a cool & dark place?
Also i have just bought a load of Feminized Auto's and wondered if the feeding times could be altered to fit them?
And last but not least, I haven't got access to RO Water and can't afford to buy and install it so could i use Distilled water in it's place?
Many thanks:hug:
YES=distilled water will work very well too!
Storage is no problem with this stuff.....I have never had any recrystalize!

Feeding times can be changed at your whim! The one's I gave are what I did when I ran synthetics....Just be sure for 2 weeks they get 20ml at feeds and nothing at straight waters.

Thanks for all the great advice! My notifications aren't being sent to me thus the late reply. P.s. I usually go organic or get my quality ferts from hydro shops. Although I do love to experiment with different techniques..

Anyways lol
I used cal mag plus my first grow, 8gal(3) plants no problem, minor deficiencies. I’m having deficiencies with one 5g(cal mag) and switched to calimag.... after deficiencies sprung in early flower, and I’ve been dealing with for last 4 weeks of flower. I just got me some epsom salt, dissolve? Sprinkle?
I’m using my same light, which of course one plant under my viperspectra 900w(yeah I know) has surpassed my first grow, I had to move around and light was limited...
advice please
