I need input

I'm roughly 87 days into veg from seed and I've done nothing but stress about this girl.

Reaching 27 inches from the top of the bucket lid, Khaleesi (unknown bagseed), has put on more weight than expected.

I have been dealing with some bugs for quite some time, which has been a major set back on flowering. I believe this to be partly due to how my area was designed, simply due to the fact that my tent is exposed to the supporting foundation of the house in the basement (because she's in the basement, lol). Just take a look for yourself.. the entire thing is kind of "rigged".

To fix this issue, I have been applying a mixture of water and pyrethrin, which has been killing off a lot of the lower vegetation. The last time I applied the spray mixture (2 days ago) the plant got so heavy that the flower pot fell into the bucket through the lid. The hole was cut a lot smaller than the pot originally, but I guess over time she packed on a little extra weight (the cardboard shim fix can be seen in the first image in the post). I am not sure if there are mites because I do not have a jewelers loupe or anything of the sort, however I have seen a great deal of fungus gnats and have watched them crawl in and out of the hydroton.

I wanted to flower her a lot sooner, but with a limited grow area I had to craft another area for my veg room for the clones I have taken off this girl. Wanting to get these babies out of the basement, coupled along with having a small apartment, which contains a girlfriend that rules over the house with an iron fist.. this area was "crafted" into my small closet (girlfriend clearly gets the large walk-in closet).

I have the fan on low and angled into the container to bring in some fresh air (also running a box fan in the window on high bringing tons of fresh air in 5 feet away), along with 2x 23w 6500k cfl bulbs providing some light. Is that enough light for these or should I get a couple more bulbs? I'm actually flowering the clone I used to sex the plant at the moment in this room, because I haven't started flowering the big lady yet in the basement. I take it out after 12 hours and put it in a dark area with some air flow and replace back in the bin at midnight when the lights go out.

Questions:

Is it possible to effective repot my DWC plant into a lid that was designed for these kind of things? I don't see how considering the size of her roots.

Do I have enough lighting in my temporary makeshift veg room?

How do I know when I have got rid of all the bugs before I flower? It seems like new bugs always come back.. should I just try flowering it anyways? I am depending on this bud, but I know it's going to take a lot longer to be mature and ready than what I have.

How can I make any of my setup better and more efficient without spending hardly anything?

Most important thing you have going now is to get rid of the bugs if they are going to mess up the plant or buds. What are the bugs doing to the plant?
What kind of bugs are they? Are they in the soil or just on the plant.

Hang up some fly strips from a dollar store when you come up with a plan of attack.

You will have to take care of the bugs at the source. I would remove the plants, bug bomb the basement and use some organic garden dust on the floor only around your setup.

Yeah mike4c4 is right you should get a bug bomb, shouldn't be too expensive and it'll kill the bugs for sure. I'm not a fan of them cos they're full of really nasty shit and you have to be kinda careful about it like leave the house while its running and don't let any open flames get near it cos a lot of them are highly flammable, but it does definitely get the job done and its a way better option than just letting the bugs chow down on your plants.

I actually created a thread just about it ( https://www.rollitup.org/t/diagnosing-the-problem.876014/ ) a while ago, but from what I gathered from the responses is that I have/had thrips in addition to fungus gnats. As noted from the pictures in that thread the bugs are apparently enjoying my plant and burrowing into the hydroton. I have purchased some sticky strips that hang down in addition to yellow sticky cards, but they have not collected as many as I have seen.

I live in a duplex and bombing the basement is not really an option.. there are too many pilot lights on both sides of the house and there's a section of the wall that divides our basement that is missing a couple bricks to run pipes to both sides.. so I would be bombing the neighbors house as well.

Yeah, just from reading about them I'm not sure that I would even want to do that. My neighbor and I both have animals and it just doesn't seem safe for her animals.

Edit: I know that my current lid which holds the mesh pot is not going to support the weight of any buds. The plant fell into the 5 gallon bucket when it was wet.. what should I do to fix this? The roots are massive and I can cut the 5 gallon bucket lid from around the mesh flower pot, but what would I do at that point? Just try to cut another hole in a 5 gallon bucket lid, or find a better option? What would I do with the roots?

It's like I want to start flowering this and getting it going. I can't bug bomb, but I have been applying more spray and I have not seen any signs of bugs. I really don't know what to do about the lid falling in.. what do you guys recommend?

I don't know about the bugs although it occurred to me that you might be able to get other bugs that will kill the pests you have but you'll have to look that up yourself cos ive never done it so I don't know what bugs would help. With the lid though best would be to get a better bucket/lid, second to that I would probably try using some pvc piping under the lid as columns but youd need to separate the roots a little so that you can get the pvc pipe to hit the bottom of the bucket without crushing any roots

ur gonna hate this but in all honesty...if u dont get rid of the bugs(that u need to identify) ur just gonna spend alot of time watching ur plant b sucked of life and maybe getting a premature, bug filled, squafy ass buds..if u get any at all...u r over run w bugs. get rid of substrate and wash everything w diluted bleach..bug bom ..then treat all plants w something that kills the particular bugs u have..no mite is organic and really works wen applied properly..not too expensive as well....or just get new cuts or start beans...ur stress alone will tax plants..wanna see u happy and blessed w fat ripe headies..
