actually asking someone if they are literally retarded is not name calling. It is a question. In which you can clear up by answering yes or no.

I can't find a reference to finian in Finnigans Wake. There is the play, Finian's Rainbow. But none of these fit the context of the poster's statement. There is a completely out of context definition from the Uban Dictionary. The second definition, below, from a website regarding the meaning of baby names fits best what the poster was saying. An obscure word, at least in these times and this place.

i was reading a thread where the subject of swimming came up
folk started making comments about black folk not being such good swimmers
a chap who claims he is black is agreeing and contributing to the thread
he says that from his experience black folk don't tend to favour swimming

various ideas were put forward as to way blacks are non swimmers more so than other races
bone density
fat content
lack of swimming pools or growing up in non coastal areas

do you have any information on this, that i may pass on ?
