Alright, they all seem to have an issue -- not sure if the topping stressed them out, or the fish emulsion, or something else entirely.

They all have slight curling happening on the edges of their fan leaves -- especially their top-most fan leaves. It doesn't seem too bad but if it is the sign of something starting would be good to fix it sooner rather than later.

I have lowered the plants a few inches incase it was a too-close-to-the-light thing.

Any ideas?

Temps have been cool. 65 at night 75 during the day.

Any help much appreciated

looks like the light was just a little to close to the canopy (tops of the plants) its not the light it self its the heat the light give off, so a fan aimed at the lights would also fix the problem

Oh no!!!! Help!

Something is seriously wrong with one of my plants! I wolk up this morning and all of them looked a little droopy, especially the 2 WWxBB but also the IBs.

I figured it could have just been a cold night or something but I got home from work and one of the girls has blistered and lost the shiny green part on a lot of her leaves. What's happening? What do I do?







What do I do?

Also the other plants aren't looking great...

the top of the soil should look dry in most your pictures, water one day by the next day the top of the soil should look dry if your environment is right and your watering at the right time
and then you leave it for a day or two more depending on the size of the plant to the size of the pot

take a look at my plant and how dry the soil is and I could go 2 more days without watering and this would not cause the plant any stress (small plant, large pot)



overwater is the most common way new growers kill there plants

I learned how often a plant needed to be watered by waiting till the leaves drop, run my finger through the soil at the top of the pot every morning and night so I fill how dry the soil gets and see how the plant reacts, could take your plants a week and if you water as soon as the leaves drop, you will do the plant no damage and you will know how dry the soil needs to be before watering (day before the leaves drop)
I never spray my plants with water, not saying it a bad ideal but once a week would be more than enough to clean the leaves and I wouldn't spray them in late flower or you could get bud rot

Thanks jacks. They have only been getting watered about once a week. These guys haven't been watered in 5 days. Maybe I have a humidity issue? I don't have a meter so can't tell, but there is plenty of ventilation.

Are we pretty sure it is an over watering issue?

yer pretty sure its an overwatering issue or you humidity is very high,

how often do you spray the plants and how much watet do you use ?

your say you have lots of ventilation
is that a fan in the side of the wardrobe pulling air out the room and replacing the air every few mins or opening the wardrobe, giving the plants a quick spray twice a day.

as this keep the humidty high in the room and cause lots of problems as I did when I first started growing

I haven't sprayed them at all. I have a 6 inch centrifugal pulling out the top and 2 6 inch passive intakes on the bottom. If I put my hand on the outside of the intakes I can feel the air pulling pretty strong. I have the fan controller turned to low so can bring that up some?

Also best watering method is this wait till pots very dry pick it up and get a good idea of what ur dry pot feels like then water till u have runoff from the pot
Then don't water again till the pots dry as the get bigger they will get dryer a lot faster

I was wondering about that. Been trying to ph around 6.0. I've only got a colouring kit so hard to be too exact but don't think I would have been off by more than .5 in either direction.

U want around 7 for soil I use a colour chart for hydro hempys 100% perlite
Test ur ph after u add ur nutrients not higher then 7 but def higher then 6

not sure about the ph as there no puple stripping on the main stem
messing about with the ph seams to cause problems so I don't do it any more anless i get puple stripes

picking up the pot to see if the soil dry is a great ideal but its hard to tell on small pot, works great on pots bigger than 5ltr

small plants like higher humidty but as they get bigger they can't handle it and afects the roots

Thanks guys. Another idea I have is that it might be temperature related. The grow drops down to just under 60f at night. Gets up to about 73 during the day...

Is there anything I can be doing to encourage their recovery? Putting them outside during the day?

using a heater in the room and bring the temps upto 86 would speed up their recovery for the next few days
as this would help to dry the soil and reduce the humidty in the room

Alright so turns out the issue wasn't overwatering.

Today it had been a week since I had watered and the soil was bone-dry right through. The girls were still looking awful. By the way, my soil stays black even when it's dry. Something about the mix.

So deciding that it couldn't be overwatering, I decided it must have been a PH or nutes issue. I flushed the girls good with just regular water (6.5). Within 2 hours they were looking way better. It's been about 4 hours now and I swear one of the IBs has grown 2 inches!

I am a bit scared of the fertiliser I bought now -- the watering I did last week was 1/4 strength...

Hopefully the girls keep perking up here over the next few days.

The nutes must be very strong as you only gave them 1/3 strength fish emulsion but saying that, I don't feed my plants in veg and only give them a light feed in flower and tried to put this across endless times and a lot of growers say I am talking crap so I only point it out if you give the plants a lot of nutes and the leaves are dark green

So since I flushed the girls on the weekend they are kicking ass. I did some heavy lst which went well except that I snapped one of the top nodes on the best looking IB. Oops. I was pretty gutted but as it was still hanging on I propped it up and left it on the plant... Actually looking like it might recover -- amazing plants.
