Sorry I slightly mislead the post there, the room is 8 x 8 but I'm gonna take a sliver of that for veg & some pruning/tending space so say we're left with something closer to 5x6 or 6x6?3x600 is not enough light for 8x8
And how many plants in said area? I'm pretty set on 1.5-2lb's+ so I'm presuming less plants and LST?6x400
Sounds good, I'll use that as my goal. Slightly off topic but is documenting my grow on here bait? I see most of the people doing it are from CA/CO and other MM states. I always document them for myself but it would be great to get some tips along the way, as well as generally be apart of the forum a bit more.imo if you can yield 500g or around that per m2 you have done well
that works out to just over 1.5 oz in 1 sq ft
6x6 could yield something like 36 sqft x 1.5 = 54 oz if you know what you're doing
possibly more if you make good use of vertical height of plants
its fine to document your grow here imo, but dont tell your facebook friendz LOLSounds good, I'll use that as my goal. Slightly off topic but is documenting my grow on here bait? Also SCROG or nah?
Thanks again broski.
Awesome, thanks for the info.if you set up a big grow and fuck it up, and harvest half dead burnt plants full of bugs in a 6x6
you will only yield the same amount as a succsesful healthy grow would yield in a 2x2 lol
so don't try to run before you can walk, growing lots of them hoping some will "survive is not a good strategy imo
its best to start small, grow a few successfully then move onto the the bigger grows once you know how to keep them healthy from start to finish
peace
I say more plants less veg time so you can pull off your goal weight without having to wait all that extra time to veg out those trees. And how many plants in said area? I'm pretty set on 1.5-2lb's+ so I'm presuming less plants and LST?
I see loads of people smashing over the 2lb mark in this kind of area, yet tons of others claiming it's impossible... My first grow was Arjan's Haze & I got about 3-4oz per plant with a 600w in like a meter or two squared. Can this be done with Indica as well?
What can I expect from various different types of grows & what in your opinion would yield the most?
Perfect. The side bud production lamps were actually on my list of things to get, however I'm working with a £1,000-1500 monitary budget & a 3,000 w power allowance so I wanted to check that I'm right in thinking the ballasts power the cool tubes with no extra power consumption? If so that's perfect.I agree with cpappa - more lights, less wattage per light. The whole key to lighting is coverage of the canopy. Better heat control, lower electricity bills and the yield will still be good.
If room size allows use two Cooltubes end-to-end. 3 pairs side by side. 400-watters using Cooltubes and you will way more than enough canopy light coverage. I have used fluorescent fixtures standing on end around the room. Cheap to run comparatively. Buy them used at used building material places or building supply recyclers like Habitat for Humanity. Side bud production is definitely increased using them and keep them close. And bulbs with more red designed for plant growth are available.
3 x 400w lights, or four for 5 x 6? Supposing I went for something bigger like 6 x 7 or 6 x 8?At 5' X 6' I would go with just 4 plants myself. Much bigger and tighter buds and better quality because of overall light coverage. Cooltubes are the way to go if possible so they can be kept closer. KEEP AIR MOVING OVER THE TOPS! Mirrors do not always reflect 100% of light striking them. Polarized glass etc can affect the bounce back light. However anything helps! A SCROG or two maybe? Others can inform you better there.
Ok brilliant. Last thing... Do I need reflective covers for the cool tube lamps? I see a lot of people using them without. The cooler temps, especially during the second half of flowering, make for much tighter buds.
