i'm gonna have to kinda, somewhat disagree here.

i grow tight/compact with the best of you men but recently had some mature foxtail (waiting for amber) and i know for a fact temps were no higher than 74, humidity; perfect and it happened..i'll look it up later and post some pics..also there are some that just don't grow that way at all..you can see even when you start off..it's kinda nice bag appeal..i never had anyone complain about the high.

spot on weed post of the day!..matters not..i purchased straight up dinafem supersilver 100% sat and her leaves looked like 100% indie..i was sooooooo fucking pissed because i just started to invest in sat's and after long, careful consideration made my selection from everything i've bookmarked over the last year prior..like christmas, you know? only to my surprise instead of pencil thin leaves..i'm like WTF?!!!! obviously, i noticed right away..kept hoping the leaves would 'skinny out'..they never did..i crossed reference every pic i could find of her to see if i could find just one with leaves like this..not a chance, although she was awesome..

That was when I heard a talk given by Mike Corral of WAMM, where he told of the plant processes happening during late flowering that cause foxtail buds. It's a result of the feeding that we do, and the plant actually storing too much, while being unable to produce seed. The way to prevent it is to slowly remove the main-stem fan leaves. Starting half-way through flowering, remove the bottom two leaves from the main stem, and then each week remove two more, going up the main stem. So over the last 4-5 weeks, you will remove 8-10 fan leaves, even if they are still green. When Mike said that, I was skeptical, until I tried it several crops, and I was convinced.

I haven't seen a foxtail bud since.

Interesting. I usually keep clones, so I'll try that on a second round next time I see it so I can compare.

Every empirical display observed from the plants are a function of the plant genetics. How often and under what conditions are statistical probabilities.

A related issue is hermaphroditism. People come up with all kinds of weird explanations for why it's happening, in reality it's built into the genetics.

Solutions may very according to farmer, but commercial production relies heavily on getting the genetics correct to minimize issues.
