S2000 vs C5 Z06

You would have to build the S2000 to the nuts to out track the vette, making it unreliable for the long haul.

Plus any asshole can work on a stock vette, simple design. Wouldn't';t have to find a "raped import" specialty shop just to get simple work done.

Plus the Honda looks like a Miata. We all know what everyone is thinking when a guy driving a Miata goes by. That will be you.
This is the exact comment I am not looking for. Biased and uninformed. The s2000 is one of the best track cars especially for the age... the F20c made the most power per litre until the 458 came out... Won engine of the year multiple times... I work at home or at my friends shop, so hence why I can do all the mods.... I don't pay others to touch my cars... I used to work on cars daily... Also if you check my link without just blurting out, you'd see a 800whp stock block s2000, with only supporting mods to sustain/make the power it makes. Looks are in the eye of the beholder... The s2000 look way better then a C5... The only way the C5 would look even(in my eyes) is with the C5R head lights that look like the C6. I hate pop up head lights. Drive a modded miata... You'll love it. Scary fun drive cars.

So basically for 16-17k Ill have a 600+whp s2000 unless I go bigger then a 62/62.

The Z06 with bolt ons, cam, heads(if enough money is there), should be around the same power. And that will run 16-20k

Well your comment no placement for displacement is true 100% of the time. It changes once boost enters the equation.

We'll I am a c5 z06 fan and that would be my choice as the market is flooded with power adders cheap. So would be a wise decision. You can add heft amounts of hp without doing major work to everuthijg in between. I lersonally believe in the long run a z06 would be cheaper and its just badass
on the other hand a s2000 boosted built w 600hp + would be ridiculous. Keep full exhaust on it to keep quiet and make a sleeper that would hurt others feelings.
Not only does the motor have to be heavily modded so does every piece from the radiator to the rear tires including conneting sub frames together and literally everything.
Yeah both opinions have a huge after market options so I am good there. The Z06 would be easier to work on as it's a OHV. Easier power made and I can stay N/A.
The s2000 would turn heads, is a lot more different build, if i ever wanted too cruise the beaches I could throw the top down(even though I want a hard top) and of course boost... I really love the sound of a nice BOV.
And yeah it would be crazy to have a sleeper s2000. Have a low boost/high boost setting and/or boost by gear to keep city driving "easier" haha.

I really don't know which one to pick... They both have huge pros and cons to me... ugh why can't I get both haha. If I had enough money to turbo the vette immediately I would probably do it, but for a Vette that is an expensive route. More so then the Honda surprisingly. Hence why another advatange the Honda has.. It's cheaper and ill have more money to throw at it from the start. ughhhh life choices haha.

Yes the only thing I really can't do from my house is machine work and I don't have a press or lift. Other then that my garage is a mini shop... And for that I go to my friends shop to for things I need. Here is the ported b16 head I was working on adding the +1mm valves.

Generally my own, but I always have friends come to me to tinker or fix something haha. But I don't like to mess around with Euro cars. Way too much work to do anything on those cars.

Why did you ask for opinions? You sound like you want us to say "S2000"....

Anyways...as for no replacement for displacement....its not bullshit. Bigger motors make bigger power. Little motors need to have forced induction just to make the same power. Now what happens when you add a turbo/supercharger to the big motor?

No Im looking for honest unbiased opinions something you can't give LOL. They have 5 second Imports just like 5 second Domestic. Hell right now the AMS 2000+ Hp full weight GTRs are killing everything only things to keep up are underground racings Lambos.... Hell Look at the new ford GT its a twin turbo V6... Just like the GTR....
The difference between a v8 and 4 banger, straight 6, v6, etc, when turboed smaller motors tend to rev higher, thus where turbos end up making all the power... So a Turbo is more efficient on a 4 cylinder as it revs higher. Don't get me into CFM charts and flow differences.... Like I said, I own both import and domestic already... I just want unbiased answers from people who have possibly driven one or hopefully both cars before and get their opinions.

I'm really not biased...well maybe I am simply because I'm much more familiar with domestic motors..

Anyways...here's a question for you. How much money would it take to double the hp of the stock S2000 and also upgrade the driveline to handle that power?

Like I said earlier they have a 62/62 kit for 4k, I can go cheaper if I want to piece it together myself and do all the plumbing, but thats a good price for a greddy/turbonetics kit. Kings Performance(AKA S2King) has some good deals and they have the fastest full weight S2000(faster then the fastest full weight GTR, which is pretty amazing)
The draftshaft and diff would be pretty cheap...Hell the diff I could source out of a few different cars at the junkyard, It's just a 5.9 or a 3.9 if I want to be cheap, and a Supra diff V160 diff(few others I can swap too) and you'll be good to go. Remember hondas aren't known for their torque, but all the same the stock driveshaft is weak. I would compare it to the transfercase in an Evo. LOL. But for about 5-6k Id be making 600+... And Ive already shown I can get a S2000 for 10k.... And my budget is around 15k but i can go a bit higher like i said... Hence why the s2000 really stands out to me... They s2000 already comes with forged internals from the factory hence why it can make the power it does stock. Now the Z06 id only be able to afford bolt ons and a tune... Id see around 500+ whp...Depending on tune.
