View attachment 350854 I got the water line buried from the house to the shed and all connections made on the shed side, still have to make the connection to the house (gotta turn off the water), maybe tomorrow?
Then I'll be ready to fire this new system up !
Getting stoked now... the AeroGarden is boring, but effective.

(PS, there is a hose bib on top of this pipe.)

Made the connection to the house today and BOOM... I'm up & running !
I added little pieces of hose to more gently let the water drop in... was making a bit too much splash.
Great circulation this way tho !
Pretty turbulent water and I don't even have the center stone running yet.20150916_170415.jpg

Oh yea... meanwhile, the little one... AKA... AK-47, (lol) is doing pretty good too !
She is at 5 nodes, popping out the 6th.
The nodes are very tightly spaced.
This plant strain is a compact one and I would expect that.
Maybe I'll only top for 4 colas.....???

Always good to do a shakedown run before transplant day... TODAY !!!
I shut the system down Wed nite and when I got up yesterday... water everywhere.
The drain tube did not seal good at the bottom and almost all the upper res drained down into the lower res and out of the fridge onto the shed floor.
So I Got the adapter that fits snugly in the drain and attached a piece of 1 1/4" clear tubing to it for my riser... Perfect !

So I let the system run all day yesterday and when I checked it, there was a little water coming from the edges of the lower res.
The lid does NOT come even close to sealing.
I cut the hole for the drain tube too close to the side and it was splashing and slowly dripping down over the side of the res.
I had a spare lid from the upper tub so I moved the drain over into the center and tested that.
It was better, but now a little splash on both sides was dripping out..... UGH!
I couldn't put a piece of hose on the drain as I need to be able to raise it slightly up out of the hole and swing it off to the right to access the res.
So I opened up the hole slightly with a dremmel and squeezed in a leftover piece of the drain tube to make a collar to let the drain water fall directly down into the res, surrounding the splash !

Yea, I know, there is a lot of little stuff floating around in there.
No problem, I am going to drain and re-fill this AM and let it run most of today and transplant after work.
All part of the shakedown run.

Early this AM I drained & cleaned the system and refilled it with fresh H2O.
Just now mixed up a fresh batch of nutes in a gallon jug and added it to the system, after draining 1 gallon of water.
Letting that stabilize and bubble a bit while the A/C is on.
I am now testing with the A/C on and the recirculating fan off.
The A/C blows it's way thru the fridge and out the charcoal filter just fine.
But, when the thermostat tells the A/C to turn off, there will be NO circulation of fresh air for hopefully just a couple minutes.
The internal mixing fan runs 24/7 likewise the recirc pump and the air pump.
Hopefully the temps won't rise too much in that time span.

Everything seems to be working nominally ! :mrgreen:
I will transplant tomorrow and monitor heavily to be sure of the temps.

EDIT,,, oh and I was looking at 400 watt MH HPS bulb with cool tubes and ballasts,, whats wrong with me,, lol

I fired that bad boy up yesterday.... WoW !
I had forgotten just how BRIGHT it is !
These LED lights that you guys build look great and all, I just don't have any extra tinkering time.
Plug & Play... 315 Watts that outperforms a 600 Watt HPS !!!

So, we had some company yesterday afternoon, so no transplant.... Thank goodness !!!
When I removed the air stone from the lower res, there was a hole in the top rim of the tub and I just pushed a little lump of plumbers putty in the hole.
I get up and check the system as it has been running all nite.
CRAP !!!!!
Everything is milky with a white residue on it.... couldn't even see in thru the "fish" window.
A little piece of the putty must have fell out of the hole into the res and spent the entire nite mixing with the soup.
I immediately drained the system and am having a cup of coffee then get started scrubbing and cleaning and refilling and remixing...... SHEESH !
At least the plants are safe & sound in the AG..... :wall:
