The Pothead Voters' Guide to the Presidential Candidates

Interesting that none of the respondents to my OP have referenced marijuana and the various vacuous positions/policies expressed by any of the putative candidates.
Who gives a shit? Isn't the war on terror a bit more important than legalizing pot.....which comes with its own set of problems?

Except you think it is okay to use non defensive force against people to make them do the things you want them to do, I don't.
That's what liberals do and many times it isn't "non-defensive", it's via brute force. They force their gay shit, their unfair tax structure games, their mass media propaganda, etc. down America's throats if we let them get away with it.

Liberals cannot escape their use of force as a means, but try to hide it when they point to outcomes they claim are good. The means used is part of the process and should not be discarded when considering the morality of a given situation. I have family members that regularly speak out of both sides of their mouth and regurgitate liberal platitudes. They used to erroneously assign me "conservative" status since they are caught up in the left / right paradigm. It makes for interesting Thanksgiving family conversations.

If a person is gay, that's their business. If a person doesn't want to do business with another person, that's THEIR business.

Forcing people not to be "gay" is wrong. Forcing people to interact with people they prefer not to, is wrong. Nobody should be forced to bake a cake if they don't want to.

Nobody should be prevented from, or forced to, interact with other people. One is as bad as the other, which some gay people seem to ignore. .

If I owned a bakery I'd bake cakes for gay people as long as they paid for it. If another person owned a bakery and didn't want to bake a gay person a cake, I'd thank them for sending potential business my way. The truly free market provides a solution, again.

Agreed and the fact that one particular group of people who being paid by me, the feds, is using facist strong arm techniques, threats, "the law" and such to tell me (a businessman) who I can and can not choose to serve is bullshit.

This is why I'm conservative. I want these liberal, politically correct morons out of my life.

All people should be able to run their own life. No people should be able to run others lives.

That's why I oppose the involuntary kinds of governments, since they arise from the opposite of what I said directly above.

Well, I certainly agree that the ending of the ridiculous prohibition of cannabis is not a major priority, as there are many other far more grievous issues requiring much more urgent attention...but...
This is, after all, a cannabis website.
I think that I can safely assume that the vast majority of the members of RIU (posters) here have either smoked, grown, or are planning to grow in the near future.
The purpose of my thread was to accentuate the commonality of all of the members of RIU.
I am simply pissed off that not one of the major party candidates has the testicular fortitude to call for the honorable elimination of the evil federal prohibition of cannabis.
No guts...simply all political animals who are obviously craven douche-bags when push comes to shove.

RIU was, in the not so distant past, a meeting place where potheads of varying political persuasions could disagree about politics without being as venomously prone to ad-hom invective as now seems to be the case here.
It seems that name calling and rancorous, puerile behavior dominates this forum of late.

The libertarian party is a minor player in US politics, but at least they openly endorse the elimination of the federal prohibition of cannabis.

....................................................................................................................................................................................
It's now time for the federal government, and the other 48 state governments, to do what most Americans want, and what the Libertarian Party has supported since its founding: end marijuana prohibition.

This coming from a guy who has donald trump in Joker makeup for his avatar?

Respect has to be shown both ways or it wont work. And in the case of this forum, dont hold your breath.

Well, Trump is certainly not a career politician.
But here is what this joker has to say regarding the legalization of cannabis:

"I've never taken drugs of any kind, never had a glass of alcohol. Never had a cigarette, never had a cup of coffee." –Esquire, June 2015

So Trump is most certainly a wild card, and maybe because of this fact I would like to see him say that the Federal Government should have nothing whatsoever to say about marijuana...simply leave it to each state and butt out baby!!!

And in an attempt to clarify my stance regarding the upcoming goober sweepstakes, regardless of my current avatar, if, after the nomination process is complete and Hillary or Bernie or Joey or Jerry or Johnny is the Dem nominee...I will give my vote to Trump because he is not quite as much of a joker or clown as these other bozos.

So a Quaker in Office shouldn't be forced to sign conceal carry permits?

The reason for starting this thread was to highlight the simple fact that there is no candidate of either major party who has (or will) endorse the elimination of the federal prohibition of cannabis.

Sooo sad.

These people all favor the end of the pathetic and misguided federal prohibition:
