exactly! lol. why the fuck did i spend all this money on grow lights? haha.

it'sjustme: your plants should recover. you might want to cut back on the nute strength for a few days as they recuperate. keep an eye out for nute burn and prepare to flush if needed.
Appreciate the adviced dude!! But the reality is there not to bad now.. where the leafs had wilted i just clipped the dead bits off leaving the rest of the healthy part... they have grown quiet alot and i know thats normal for the first couple of week of 12 12, although i do believe i shocked them a little its not that bad

Very clever. You have a degree in botany from where? Photosynthesis through the day stores energy. It releases at night, thus plants grow at night. As far as a preflowering dark period goes, it 'jump starts' flowering... raises hormone levels.

Google do plants grow at night. Don't read the bickering cannabis sites, just read the university studies. You do believe in science, right? Or are you one of those global warming deniers? Lol.

This is a tough fucking crowd. Does Rodney Dangerfield play this room?
Humour man, get it! Jeez so serious, your right, a tough crowd. And nope no degree in botany. Dont need one I figure, seems I can grow a plant with out one. And I'll let you know about Dr. GS in a couple months when my OhZone is done. Also I dont really give a flying fuck if you turn your lights off, do I think it works, no, have I tried? Not sure, probably in the last 40 years yes, and if it worked for me I probably would have kept doing it. Also I try to incourage people to try things, why not, its only a plant nothing more, nothing less.

I hear ya Budley Do...

I like to hear idea exchanges, like to try new things... but mostly just little tweaks here and there... when something seems to work you keep doing it...

But this is a tough crowd. Yesterday a guy said he fucked my mother and suggested I'm gay because he didn't agree with some posts about starting in small pots instead of big ones... now THAT's the way to share your skill and encourage people...

I don't have a degree in botany either, but I have one in management. And I've managed to grow a lot of bud, and taught dozens basic fundamentals of growing. I always tell them try different things, maybe you'll discover something you can teach me back.

Grow on and have a nice day

I personally have experienced the wilted leaf with some strains when doing a 36 hour dark. My current philosophy is keep it simple. 12/12.

So what causes it then? Only thing i could think was stress, they seem to have recovered well enough though. Glad to hear im not the only one its happened to..

Oh, by the way... if you want to try to jump start flowering... it doesn't have to be 36 hours before the onset of flowering either. I have done 24...18...14, all kinds of different numbers. If they get too stressed for you at 36 and you still like the theory, try 18...

The object for me is to get them going in flower. Maybe I should have mentioned that earlier...36 isn't etched in stone

Could you show me some pictures of your plants in different stages?

Those were vegged on 15 & 9...they were flowered on 10 & 14...with an 18 hour dark period before the onset on flower.

You like apples? How you like THEM apples?

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that they stood in the dark for 48 hours before cutting. Makes them the stickiest of the icky.

I also don't believe they'd be one inch bigger on 18-6 or 24-0 or 12-12 or any other possible combination. They'd only be bigger if I vegged longer & then I could out grow my space.

How I like them apples? Do you think you just proved something? That pic didn't help clarify what I was trying to understand I wanted to see a pic in the vegetative state and at the beginning of flowering to see your internode spacing compared to mine that's what I wanted to see. Nice buds btw.

Yeah. I proved you should think outside the box. Developed your style based on what YOU think is best, not what everybody says is right. Intermodal spacing is overrated. A little stretch is good for light spread and saturation. A tight little bush doesn't get penetrated as well.

I agree a little stretch is good for light penetration. But I like to keep them tight little bushes until it's time to flower and then when they go into that stretch during flowering they'll be able to get all the light penetration they need, and if some of the bud sites are blocked by fan leaves I do what I call selective defoliation.

I grow more naturally I guess. I don't mess with them much. I've used Bushmaster in the past. Now THAT stops stretch. But then they're all jammed together side by side, bushing out like hell and your ventilation isn't as efficient. I need room for air flow around them.

funny you mention that. I had a friend that used bush master, his buds were rock solid but he ended up with mold
