Spectrum king led

There are too many trolls and negative personalities on this LED section, you got to be a fool to show your grow test if you're not a top notch grower (or a highly respected grower). It will be an unstoppable flow of insults, trolls and negative comments. I really don't feel that way on other cannabis forum... And i don't blame the moderators, i blame the stupid angry people populating the internet boards.
But the level of knowledge in here is at least remarkable, no one can deny that.

Peace
I agree with you in part Nic, but i have noticed that most of the trolls hang out in the 'sticky threads' ,lol. For the most part, this section is more constructive and palatable than other forums. A couple weeks ago, I ventured out of the LED section and into some of the other topics here on RIU. I was called a retard, a dumbass, and it was suggested that I should kill myself. SO, idk things aren't that bad in this sub forum.

Ya. They alway come in then retreat back under their bridge. Then back again next month.

Personally for this section...as much as I love the DIY theory and build talk. I want to see some fucking grows. I see so many chime in for a minute, but rarely see any behind their text.

Their used to be about 6-10 top notch led gardens and growers showing the capabilities of their lights and skills. Now we are luck to get a single quick canopy out of anyone.
When I first joined up here (late 2014) There seemed to be alot more people showing off plants and gardens grown under LEDs. Seems like now, 80% of posts are conceptual, or builds only.

Just throwing in my general 2 cents.....I would never try to replace my hps with leds. With that said....I run 2800 watts hps in my larger (not all that large) room. I run leds in my smaller (4.5x4.5) tents, and they work perfectly. I like the fact that you can set them up anywhere, no real cooling required, I just have a small fan exhausting air out of the tents. I use Stealth Grow SG602 in one, and a Blackstar Ion 8 in the other. While these lights are very expensive, they allow me to grow where I would normally not be able to due to heat issues. I won't say they don't put off heat, because they do, just a lot more manageable than hps in a small area.

Hahaha not very constructive criticisms. And to think, we are all here to learn about the same thing (growing cannabis). It's almost more of a popularity contest in high school.

The LED section isn't nearly as bad.. Just a lot of ego's floating around.

I'm sure you're asked this constantly, but your diys on tube are so awesome. I'd GLADLY pay you to build Mr a 6x2 array of cxb3590's in like a 2x3 heatsink. Nothing huge like your mega cree or spider style. Haha I wish I had the know how. But I'd seriously love to own someting you've built. So let me know if there's anythung you can do.

I'd bet that you wouldn't be saying never had you bought a top quality LED light and not overpriced crap:)

Thanks for the props hommie. I have had quite a few people ask me to build them something, and I have considered it. But there are a few challenges:
-I would have to reveal my identity through paypal, & the return address. If we try to keep it anonymous, neither party has any recourse if the transaction goes sour.
-shipping the heatsinks 2 ways is going to cut into the "DIY savings"
-I'm still dialling in and building up my own garden, so it takes me weeks to pull off a build in my free time.

If your u.s., usps would work, just use a friend's address and name. As for pay, I'd be willing to send MOney to that same person under certified signature mail. just ship in a flat rate box.

The extra parts I'm getting I was gonna just have a friend list it on eBay. However I'm legally growing here in the springs.

@Airwalker16 didn't say your posts are junk. The lights are! I've said to you unless it's vero 29 or 18 or Cree CXB 3070-3590 or Osram SSL 80 to stay away from it.

Lol. I think everyone misunderstood my use of that sentence (I would never try to replace my hps....). It's just that everyone always asks "so how many watts of hps does that replace? ". Unfair question. I don't want my leds to perform like hps, I prefer the tight internode spacing, short and bushy plants coated in trichs that led lights produce.
I wouldn't call my lights "junk" either. My evaluations of them are this.... The Stealth Grow is awesome. It's about 30 pounds of solid, well built lighting. I would prefer a bigger light footprint and more output though. Stealth Grow just disappeared overnight, I don't know what happened to them, so no warranty or repairs. :-( The Ion 8 is giant! Covers a massive area and has plenty of output. Separate variable controls for bloom and veg, can even run it on two separate timers if say you wanted to add more red at some point during veg but not all the time. I really like the flexibility. However, once I opened it up and took a look inside. ..I'm a bit disappointed now. There's 10 drivers, the layout looks well thought out, the heat sinks look adequate, and the fans are a nice size, but man it looks cheap in there! The drivers do look like junk, cheap Chinese junk. I'm very happy now that I got mine for almost free. I called Lighthouse to ask about the drivers, since one has a melting case...A guy answered, sounding like he was just waking up at home, no driver for me. Short, blunt, no help. I called back a few days later in the afternoon, same guy, same responses. Wtf!
So this has led me to start looking for a new led light that is not "junk" and honestly I don't see one on the market unless I spend $3000. I want a good ol' made in America unit. Any suggestions? ??

Cheaper to get two of these than one SK and you also get 20% more output wattage. The 400w high bays are just too bulky and heavy to handle conveniently and the light is too concentrated in one area. The 240w high bays have a much more compact heatsink. Maybe the LEDs run hotter, idk, but I think this size is the biggest you would really want to get in a single lamp. The 4000k CCT would make slightly shorter plants than the SK, which is around 3600k.

The reflector is actually about the same diameter as the SK ones, just you have a lot less bulk above it. I wouldn't put the reflector body and heatsink inside a grow tent though, because it does get quite hot. It works well mounted above the tent with the reflector openig in a round hole cut in the tent top. You get more vertical growing space that way too.

One 240w in a 3'x1.5' tent or cab is very bright. That's a little over 50w per sq ft. I got some slight leaf tip drying and lightening of the leaves but they're handling it remarkably well considering that I switched directly from a 150w HPS. I have them about 2' below the reflector opening.

Hi room

I am currently in talks with a Chinese lighting firm via alibaba. I have show them the spectrum king and they understand kind of what I want. But they a want me to be a bit more specific. As quick as I am to learn, this seems quite involved and I was wondering if anyone would help on here as to what I actually need them to build me please. I want a flowering LED but that's about all I know really, that and I want a 120 reflector.
They are telling me that they use cre and that they can build me whatever I want and could easily replicate the spectrum king 400+
Again the problem is that they want to know specific as to what I want in terms of light. I've told them I want a full spectrum range of light that has real intensity.
I'd be really grateful if anyone on here could help.

Well I would skip it all together. The thermal characteristics of those Fixtures suck.
