76% of Americans Now Acknowledge Climate Change Is Occurring--Including the Majority of Republicans

A few observations:

  • I have concluded through 40+ years of research that 98% of Americans are ignorant and will believe anything that is repetitively told to them. Most are incapable of critical thinking.
  • They had the Pope chime in because if you're of the mind to believe in Catholicism then man made climate change isn't much of a stretch. If the Pope wants to slow co2 emissions he should maybe mention to 3rd world populations that it might not be a bad idea to consider birth control, but that would decrease the power of the church.
  • MMCC gives me better yields than I had 20 years ago.

Yeah..I'm all hashed out ..that came out all wrong.. It was more like Solar in Texas cuts the peak by 55% or something.
That's still a kick ass stat, and here's why; if you want to provide x electrical generation capacity, you need to be able to produce x amount of power. If x is the peak power of the system, that means the other 99% of the time, you going to have excess capacity, doing nothing but costing money.

Did you know that buying peak power on the open electricity market can cost DOLLARS per kilowatt?! Yep, because it's still worth it at those prices instead of building power generation capacity you'll only rarely need.

Those panels are replacing some very expensive electricity and by their very nature, they're doing it at exactly the right time. Now, if only those Texans were smart enough to put the panels on top of their homes, the shade itself would save as much on their power bill as the panels would earn them!

Nuclear is no good... I'm against nuclear everything.

Chernobyl or The Japanese plant should scare the hell out of anyone.
Damn straight. Anything that leaks shit that can kill people for thousands of years needs to be put far, far away and never used on the surface where humans live again. It's a dire mistake on earth.

In space it's another story entirely; the void is constantly bathed in radiation of all kinds. Nuclear power on spacecraft makes lots of good sense.

would you put a reactor in orbit?

Really that is easy to do. I personally don't auto log in.

Yeah, ok, so when can I plant one in my backyard and run my house on it? 20-50 years from now? Ok great, so for the next 20-50 years it sucks.
Dude, read the fuckin' beer bottle in your hand; 'New Belgium Brewery, Wind Powered, Employee Owned'.

You can buy wind power from your local utility.

Put up or shut up. This is what I would consider calling your lying ass out in a public forum. What can you do about it? Prove me wrong would work wouldn't it.

i mean, great job at parroting a fox news talking point, but please STFU.

i'd watch fox news if i wanted to hear that crap.

were you aware that the government will actually give you money for energy efficient appliances, windows, and the like?

so much for your retarded persecution theory that this will come out of your pocket somehow, idiot.
I got grants to install solar panels on my laundromats. Damn government saving me loads of money with the heating of hot water. Thanks Obama

every window we install, we peel off the energystar sticker and give it to the homeowner for safe keeping because it saves them tons of money on taxes.

not to mention reduced electric bills, energy consumption, and so forth.

maybe ginwilly can explain to us about how the government is secretly stealing money from them instead.

If we can find a way to recycle nuclear waste then it's worth it. I'm with you though, those leaky nuclear reactors need to be shut down. Personally we should probably be more concerned with what's at the CDC might leak out, holy shit at that apocalypse. Or... do we trust the CDC to not let things leak out? Is that even possible?

Another solution to an energy independent earth is a better battery. If we had the capability of driving cross country without a charge, we solve so many other problems as well. We also create a giant one though. Imagine what a weapon that could be built from that type of power.

Chernobyl or The Japanese plant should scare the hell out of anyone.

What scares me more is the lack of understanding of the technology involved.
It then causes me to question why people are so quick to believe the other issue.
It seems to me addressing strategies for energy REDUCTION will do more to alter the world beneficially than arguably impractical techno-alchemy.
So does this guy:

I make huge amounts of money because the government pays 40% of my wages. Gotta love 'em.
