What do you usually mix your stock at? Ill be doing 100-110gal fill ups. Id have to do like 1000:1gal concentrate or more to make it so im not putting a whole gallon of nutrient stock in each fill up. But then how would I fit 3000g of the hi-k, 2000g of calcium nitrate, 1500g of epsom into one gallon if water? Seems like that would take up a lot of volume?

And arent there some im supposed to separate?

Mix the calcium nitrate separate from the rest.

I mix the 25lb bag of the hydroponic mix I get into a 55 gallon barrel full of hot water. This gives me 100:1 ratio, and yes I do indeed use a full gallon for each 100 gallon changeout. What's wrong with that?

No other nutrients go in that stock solution; it's strictly for the mix. The only reason to do it at all is to ensure that each portion is the same, as mixing small amounts of the dry mix was problematic.

The rest of the nutrients can be mixed straight from dry, as they only have one component.

So just to walk thru a typical 100 gallon bloom nutes changeout;

First, drain the old solution. DON'T flush with fresh water to get the last bit out, plants hate it and it's much more trouble than it's worth. Add 80 gallons of water immediately, so roots don't dry out.

5 gallon Bucket A;
200g calcium nitrate and add water to dissolve. Give it a minute, top it off and add to the res when you don't see any granules, it won't take long. Warm water accelerates the process.

5 gallon Bucket B;
150g of epsom salt
50g of MKP
Add some hot water, stir. Leave room for the gallon of stock mix.

Stir the stock tank, then decant one gallon of concentrated solution and add to Bucket B. Top this bucket off and add it to your nutrient res. I try to wait a minute between buckets to be on the safe side.

This is 90 gallons out of a 100 gallon change; I'm short in order to ensure I can add water to bring EC down to the desired level. Trying to be spot on often results in overshooting and ending up a bit weak. Balance EC, you will want to wait 30 minutes between readings and adjustments to allow for mixing in the RDWC.

LAST, balance your pH.

Exactly. You need to add only known quantities so you know where you are.

Are the 55g stock solution containers black? 55 nute changeouts would last 2 years.

I was looking at a 20gal black polyethylene containers. Would those work? This leaves me at less than a year storage doing bi weekly changeouts

And the fun begins.

I got this one random seed, not sure what it is. But it was growing fine at 0.7EC so I upped it to 1.0EC and it has stalled. For like 2 weeks now it hasn't done shit. The pH is solid at 5.8 and the feed is at 1.04EC just like I set it. And none of the water is being drank.

What the fuck would cause that and if its not drinking water how the fuck is it still alive?

Another plant its bottom growth is over growing the top. What would cause that?

Why cant I feed like everyone else does? I push 1.0EC in veg and they get all stressed out. Yet they show deficiency at like 0.7EC. I dont fucking get it. They are under a 4 light t5ho, formally a 6 tube but 2 lights blown and I haven't gotten around to buying new ones. That could have something to do with it? But even the ones in flower under the 600w HPS I can never go past 1.4EC and lately its like 1.0-1.2EC is what it likes.

Something has been fucked for a while and im not sure wtf it is. I havent gotten a plant to look right since I moved here...Maybe the tap?

Not sure, things seemed easier when I was a newbie using Ionic 1 part and calmag. I remember getting plants in veg under that t5ho to 1.2EC and them loving it.

I cant even steer these pipedreams in flower out of the calcium def. they're in.

Took these a few days ago. Doesn't look as bad under normal light, but under the HPS it looks BAD.

Nope. Been feeding 4ml/gal calmag and no end in sight. Been keeping pH at 5.7.

Perhaps my bottle of calmag is junk. Anyways its about time I buy dry nutes and mix my own.

have you tried running your pH in the whole range from 5.5 to 6.1? i had better luck doing it that way versus keeping it at a constant pH.

yeah i usually let it rise. sometimes though itll bite me in the ass and ill get a random drop after setting to 5.6 and ill go outta range. Or itll just sit at 5.6

Not sure what the issue is. They look awful. If they finish worst plants ever.

yep, know what you mean. had the same thing with dwc in the past. will be climbing slightly up like it should for almost a week and then you check in the morning and it's like 4.7. wtf?

Yeah, I got a jar and half left of my last harvest.

I brought a Blue OG into flower. Starting to get some light green tips at the growing tips and what looks like to be another calmag def.

Im going to get my water tested to see what exactly makes up the 90ppm in my water. There has to be something wrong. I've been getting these issues way too consistently.

Works well, so the plants must like it. Ratios and quantities used are easy to remember and thus harder to make mistakes. Sulphur is cheap, lol

I just used your grams per gallon and multipled for veg 3 times the % listed of each element in the 5-11-26 mix. Then 2 times the % listed of each element for calcium nitrate and 1.5 times the % listed of each element for epsom.

Added same elements together to get a final ratio.
