My wife said she could smell skunk,, dang and i am not even in flower,, top notch strains,, so i did allot of work on the cab today,, more sealing, and weather stripping, also hung the carbon filter,, after I baked it in the oven and recharged it, also did some light sealing on the 4 inch intake hose,, and got some pre work done on the tube that will be my thru the window exhaust,,some pics of the girls outside of the box also
bake the carbon filter at 250 for 30 min after washing it with soap and water in the sink
So, how did that work, cuz my filter is struggling....
Like I said, I always walk into the shed "nose first" and this past week, the stank has come on strong !!!

washing the carbon and re activating it works well, I got the idea on here from a guy who worked at a hospital and they had carbon filters in certain areas,, he said they washed them and reactivated them every 6 months for years, I did it several times during the last grow, in my last grow I would wash the carbon and put it back in, this time i just washed the whole thing and baked the whole filter in the over,,thankt good ness it fit,,
here is the instructions i was given ,,,
posted this in another thread.....it fits here perfectly!

Why throw it out? You can wash and recharge that carbon!

Use a mild biodegradable soap in RO or deionized water. Put in the carbon and swish it around for about 15 min. Drain and rinse, 3 times, soaking/swishing the carbon for 10 min the first 2 times.
Now dry it and bake it in an oven at 250 deg till dry.....The heat does the "recharge" as it dries out. The mild soap removes any accumulated oils that it may have absorbed (only in the surface pores [on the carbon] are where these oils get trapped).

This is how a major drug company does it's lab filter carbon.

Doc

P.S. You might try the oven recharge first as that has good effect if your whole filter fits and you don't feel you want to tackle removing the carbon....Be sure to take off the white "prefilter" first.

Thanks man !
If you recall, my DIY filter consists of a Cricket basket that has some plastic and nylon stockings.
I wonder if 250 would kill it?

too fragile for the oven as a whole,, you would have to remove the carbon, wash it, bake it, then re install the carbon, that is the best method of re charging, washing and baking the entire filter is a short cut, but I would not rish the plastic and nylon,, good luck

This grow has a theme,, Sink or swim, the SD is the only one having issues, but Like you I am not chasing the issue, its sink or swim,, and the SD is swimming, despite some leaf issue,, most of that issue is in its older leafs, but its alive and growing and thriving, so the SD can just "leaf issue" all it wants, the other 3 look pretty darn good, BB likes to droop its leafs over a little but the color is good and the growth is fast, BB is not over or under watered, its just doing its own thing, so Swim away,, the J1 has caught up to the others,, those sativas,, lol,, the Best Plant award goes to the GG4,, it is bye far the happiest,, has the best color biggest leafs, it doesnt grow as fast,, but its doing the best hands down,, so if it smokes good, and I am sure it will, someday I may just do a single or a double of just gg4,, time will tell,,
I lowered the light to 15 inches above the SD which is the tallest, but not by much,,I am looking at the remaining height in the box, flipping is near,, just not yet,, a tiny bit more growth needed,, It gets easier to envision how much they will fill out after the flip the more crops we grow
I did some lower leaf and scraggly limb trimming from stuff way down low,

alright, its update time, the Sour Diesel was just having a bad time,, while the other 3 were healthy!! sometimes you just gotta cull and weed out the sickly, you know real estate in our small stealth cabs is too precious to waste on a sicklly plant,, when the remaining three will fill the cab with good healthy bud,, I had heard that SD can cause some strong paranoid in some people, so I try to stay away from those strains,
I am hoping the J1 ( jack herer) plant has a great head high but low paranoid, so heres hoping ,The J1 has a single main cola thats going to be fun to watch flower and it has a secondary shoot that was there from cloning , to its like a 2 cola plant, that J1 bounced back to health so well, I am happy to see that
The Gorilla Glue 4 is such a great plants it has remained strong the whole ride and now GG has taken off with huge leaves as big as my hand and its color has remained perfect thus far , i have heard great things about the legendary couch lock of the GG4,, oh yea
The Bruce Banner has turned into such a good bush, with lots of tops, never had this strain, but it won a cannibis cup recently ,, must be good?
we are in final pots, flipping to flower in a few more

Hey Tim, nice plants! And DIY skills!
I saw your yield thread with the two crees, very impressive. I'm excited to see what four of them do for you!
I run 4x cxb3070 3000k @1.4A in a 36" x 20" tent. Pretty much same footprint and lighting as you.
Funny thing is, I'm leaning towards doing a scrog for my next run, and you did a scrog for your first.
Right now I've got 4 untrained plants and 1 fimmed, similar to what you're doing this run..

I'm about half way through flower right now. If I get close to the grams per watt you got on your first run I will be more than happy!
Come stop by some time bongsmilie

Good vibes to your girls!
