You can't have a detachable magazine for "assault" rifles in California, let alone buy one legally that can carry more than 10 rounds. If anything is ridiculous, it is the ineffective gun restrictions California has in place.

A complete AR is $1000+, though at times they can be had for 500-750, or less for the lesser models of M forgeries.
If you can muster up the bank roll you'd be better off dealing with ex soviets, or Africans. That is if they don't kill you for lulz and take selfies with your corpse.
