I will elaborate a little more. You say that drugs and stuff are OK because its private backstage entertainment?

Its the same thing. Anyone there listening or buying the songs are making the private decision to listen to it.

I never see you speaking out against violence on TV and games which leads me to believe its not the violence in rap but the color of their skin.

Am I wrong? Do you allow violent movies and games in your house? Do you have parental controls on your TV and computers?

Music shouldn't be about violence? Music is an expression of one's life experience. That includes people that see violence.

Its not about clapping your hands and dancing. It is an expression.

Monitoring what a kid listens and whatches I'll agree with. I do watch things like the walking dead. I don't let my kids watch stuff like that.

I also understand music being intrusive. Last time I went to the beach I got aggravated about someone playing music loud.

I also tend to not listen to really vulgar music any more.

Kieth and Elvis share the same number of tunes with profanity and violence. Maybe they shared drugs and wives too.
I can turn on a rap tune and out of a hundred words, 70 of them pronouns and the rest profanity ridden violence.

No comparison to Elvis, Keith, Roger, Robert, Michael, Stevie, Cher, Paul, Ray, Madonna, Patty, and on and on.

They wanted to make laws in MA about cars and beach goers with loud profanity in earshot of little kids. It faded because of winter, but next summer, it`ll be brought back up. Moms were complaining that 5,6,7ect.ect. were going around repeating what they hear. It used to be because it was too late or something, now it`s the content.
