So if I'm not mistaken a kush is an indica landrace from the Hindu Kush mountains. And I see a lot of "kush" strains that don't apply to that. I've been itching to experiment with breeding and I want to make a weed called "captain kush" or "major kush". But I want my kush to be legit. Not some fucking fake with the name for the sake of the name. So does anyone know any strains that are legit kush strains?

I grew pot of gold from flying dutchmen when it came out. A good yielding "real kush" cross. Hindu kush X skunk1.
I killed it with that one for a few years. I smoked some hindu kush, and it tasted practically the same.

hindu kush named so for the region it originated from… until sometime in the mid 2000's or so it was the only kush… all that other shit is just a name
You are correct on the first half. All "Kush" is named for the region Hindu Kush.
As for the second - It is ABSO-FUCKIN-LUTELY NOT the "only" kush!!!

It has not much to do with India other then a small area in the North west as some else suggested.
The region covers area's of Afghanistan, Pakistan, China and Tajikistan and a little bit in India like I said.
ANY landrace from the region is considered a true "kush". So with that in mind, you should search for LANDRACE seeds from those countries. Pure Afghans are still available as are a cpl of Paki kush's and of course Hindu Kush.

Some say that G-13 is a true Kush as it came from the region as far as we know. Others say it is a government construct from the Old Miss facility. The decision is yours. The only G-13 worth buying is from Dr. Greenthumb in my book.

True landrace Kush's I can find right now.
These are all from the Hindu Kush region - no Moroccan or Nepalese hybred or Indica cross's, only PURE KUSH region Landrace's

Hashplant - Sensi seeds
Afgani #1 - sensi seeds
Maple leaf Indica - Sensi seeds
Hindu Kush - Sensi seeds
Hindu Kush - Kiwi seeds
Vanilla Kush - Barney's Farms
Pakistan Vally regular - World of seeds
Afghan Kush Regular - World of seeds
Mota Khan Afgana - Elite seeds
China Yunnan - Ace seeds
Williams Wonder - Sick Meds
Pakistan Chitral Kush - Cannabiogen
Double Glock - Ripper seeds
X-18 Pure Pakistani - Reserva Privata
Pamir Gold - Dutch Passion = This is debatable region wise but, does come from the edge of the Hindu region in Tajikistan in the Himalaya's - I say it's IN.
Taskenti - Cannabiogen = While not from the region (Uzbekistan). This deserves a mention as it makes some of the best cannasure Hash there is!

I hope this helps you out better.

Damn dude thanks. I'd + rep you for that one. Much thanks. I'd heArd good things about the maple leaf indica. And I like how the China yunnan sounds. With all those I kinda wanna expiriment and try to breed 3 together. I don't know if there's any point of breeding 3 strains together tho. Call it "Tri-kush" or "triforce kush". Trip kush.....idk. Think my next and last seed order ever is gonna be a batch or landraces. Kush and otherwise.

No Prob!
Why not? Many have and Dutch Passion did Indica mix's from the region starting years ago....They still have some of the these cross's in their stable now....

Hmm, now you have me thinking......G-13 (yields) X China Yunnan X x18 = Numbered Yellow Kush or Y21 Kush.....Hmmmm ---The BXing would be pheno dependent for strength and yield..
