Hey rollers, so I am feeling very stressed. I started my first real attempt on h'ween this year. I have a 4x2 veg going at max capacity and a 4x4 at 90% capacity with some already 4 weeks since i flowered on thanks giving. Ive got my mother of blue dream chosen and is quite beautiful and much healthier than the others.
However Ive been running into deficiencies and burns like no other. They all looked amazing a month in and a month later even the mother is getting sick! D': HELP
So Ive been using Fox farm ocean forest with 35% perlite And have regretfully chosen fox farms as my nute line. I absolutely hate fox farms. I can never feed them at a quarter strength or even an 8th without worrying that it'll fuck them up. Ive been studying others advice on defs all over the forums the past month and am still struggling on what the f I should do.
I don't know if watering 3-4 times a week was too much? in the first feeding around their 6th day from seed (transplanted day 5 into solo cup from root plug) i was dumb and fed them the recommended 6 tbs of big bloom and nuked the shit out of them. Luckily they were able to recover then i had watered once or twice and nuked them again with a tsp of grow big and realized how powerful the nutes are. They had a huge spurt from the feeding but looked sick. I Was trying to stay on a routine of watering mon fri and sun, feeding wed and dry other 3 days but i realized they needed a bit more dry time when they were at that month mark. So i was trying to do a bunch of shit to fix the first Def i noticed which i thought was 'calmag' so i got a botanicare calmag which has nitrogen and iron (fuck!) so i was thinking i was seeing cal issues with the wrinklage and mag with the lower fan leaves having intervenal chlorosis. I only fed cal mag 3 times this past month or so once at a tsp one at a quarter then a half or so. I noticed how green my plants were the first time and now realized that im having nitrogen toxicity with that other supplement. I had started making sure i was feeding 6.5ph a month in after a month of first using bottled water then a week or so using half n half bottled and tap unphd which was alkaline at about 7.5 so now i corrected ph and was trying to litterally feed on average about 3tsp of big bloom and 2tsp gro big n an 8th of calmag per week. I was trying to flush 2 weeks ago and noticed it helped but was having lots of stress signs. Yellow thin wispy leaves for new growth made me think zinc def but was confused with the tap water having enough apparently. I was figuring iron (similar symptoms) might not be absorbing cuz of ph being too high, i really don't know. I also noticed a limish green color to some indicating sulphur def. lots of leaves are tearing. And lots of yellow wispy leaves lots of bunching up.
Ive seen lots of probs after trying to feed lightly after flushing so i felt like perhaps the roots might be locked out and since i was feeding only 3tsp of big bloom a week where it recommends 6tbs i figured feeding just 6 tsp big bloom might help.
Nope.
More issues. Lots of stress on my flowers and mother and on me. Im pretty sure my issue is nute lockout.
How should i get back on a healthy routine after a rocky start? I was wondering if I should try and Craigslist the fox farm bullshit and get something like roots organic or general hydro or floragro. Could i simply pick up where i left off on the last week of veg for the vegers and start feeding the flowers week 4? Santa please help me bring my plants back to health
