The flower room looks a little small
so is that 4ft wide x 4ft long and how high is it ?
just looks to short could have a few problems if you have less than 5 ft because you lose 10 inches for the plant pot and lose about 2ft (hang light and the 18" gap between canopy and the hood)

so in a 5ft high room you can only grow plants 2ft high
3x3x4.5

Due to electrical problems I've decided to turn this into a super cfl box. First time building a box and using CFls so let's see how it goes, I'll be getting a fan speed controller for the 6" since I believe it will be over kill. Let me know what you think,
Also will be adding vertical CFls alon the back of the box for the side branches.
I would run 1 600 anyday over those cfl's.

you can't run a 600w in a 4.5ft high room, once you have the pots and the hood hanging you will have no space left for the plants

looks like a good setup fellow but instead of cfl on the walls I would screw twin 2ft t5's on the 3 walls horizontal, 2ft high, this will keep the electria down but give you a really good spread of light :)

Yeeah that tossed my mind and I will probably go with that idea!

What about a 400watt? I put a tiny space heater I there was with temperature control and keeps the old between 79-75 day and night. My passiv intake brings in 40 degree cold air from outside, still need to add a fan speed controller

Also! What if I put a hood in there but to where the glass is flat with the top of my box, then I have 4.5 ft of grow space

Yeah you could do that, it helps with temps since you dont have a hot hood in the room, just a glass, but its fucking loud because the ventilation for the lights is on the outside the grow.

Yeah but my box is outside in 40 degree weather in the back carport. Not worried about noise.
Guess I'll grow these out and put the hood in for the next batch:)

Thats a great ideal, use air cooled hood with a fan attached to one side, above the room and a square hole cut of of the top of the box, so the hood just fits and spot weld it in place

somthing like this

600w hps.png
with this setup you could use a 600w hps and have the canopy 12" below the hood as the fan would remove most the heat from the hood

you would still need a fiter and fan but its going to be a good setup

m not worried about smell, im venting all air about 13 ft up in the air. Let the birdies smell it

Need to find a good seed bank. Heard of lumberjack seed source? I'm all about OG strains! Their breeders are ocean grown? Something like that

But these cfls seem to be doing wonders for me
On short bushy plants, cfl works great in veg
tbh I have never flower a plant under cfl but every thread that i have read about hps vs t5 in flower, has said you get denser buds and a higher yeild with hps
so that's what i have always done.
