Hey Liberals? Guns work!!

I think gun safety classes should be mandatory if you want a gun, personally. I have to take a drivers test to get my drivers license after all if everyone on the right keeps touting the "PEOPLE DIE IN CARS, WE SHOULD OUTLAW CARS *heavy breathing*," bullshit argument.

So because you are oppressed in one way, you reason that other people should share in your oppression another way?

I really don't think education on something that's used to kill is in any way, shape, or form of oppression just like I don't think a drivers test is any sort of oppression but logical. I really expected this stupid argument to come from someone else.

If the education you want to force on others is mandatory does it have elements of oppression?

Will you use guns to force people to be trained in the "proper use of guns" ?

No, it does not. You think anything is oppression that you don't agree with and misuse the word; I'd be surprised if you knew what oppression actually is at this point in this conversation.

No, now you're putting your words in my mouth. Stop it please.

I think if you confine your actions to things that involve you, I may not agree with those actions, but if I leave you alone I am not oppressing you.

However that's not the kind of oppressive proposal you made. You not only want people to do what you want them to do, even if they are not involving you, you want to make them do it under a threat. That is oppressive.

I'm afraid you're the one misusing words.

I could certainly get behind gun safety classes being taught as part of the core public school curriculum for everyone. Maybe start about when they are 8. Then a safety refresher when they are 12 with some range shooting. A couple questions on the ACT. ;)

That would've made gym class way better. Archery? Psh.

Seems oxymoronic.

Public schools are funded by the threat of people willing to misuse guns (or have others do it for them) ....why would you want them to teach kids about "gun safety" ?

I could certainly get behind gun safety being taught to those that want it though, so we share the same goal, even if we don't endorse the same methods.

Under the threat of what? They don't get to have a CCW permit or buy a gun? Ooo scary. There should be some education behind something that can kill someone. Am I oppressing you right now by disagreeing with you? "but if I leave you alone I am not opressing you." This is like extreme SJW stuff lol.

No, you are not oppressing me, sometimes you amuse me though. Thank you.

So, who would administer "gun safety" in your world, would it be a voluntary participation or would men threatening others with guns make sure nobody used guns to threaten anybody? (yes, THAT is your circular argument)

Make it an elective and I could get behind your suggestion. There are some people with religious objections that might want to opt out. The more people know, the better chance of making good decisions.

Mine was 50% tongue in cheek thinking that the libs would never go for it. It would eliminate needing to take it in order to get a gun. Follow?

P.s. I did go to a grade school that had a 50ft 22 caliber rifle range in the basement and I did bring the hinge action Savage 20 ga. bought with my newspaper delivery profit to school in the 6th grade without incident.

Its the same old crap. Any suggestion of training classes, standards for safety awareness, safe storage is met with opposition by gun owning Barneys. Making it part of school curricula would certainly stir up the anti-gun chowder heads though. I'd sure like to see the fur fly.

I got that you were a bit tongue in cheek when you said it. But its not a bad idea. OOOOOOH yeah, the anti-gun faction would get hyped up about it. It would make for good theater.

You favor the use of guns to get you what you want. You do it often too.

They used to do that. Have shooting teams/classes. Idk why they did away with them.

Teaching people to be responsible is not the purpose of public schools. Instructing people to be obedient is the purpose.

They did away with it, because one of the impediments to a completely obedient society is a peaceful, but armed populace.

why do you support a dumb America ? Do you think this country would be better without public schools ?

Why do you support funding something on an involuntary basis ?

Do you think children would be better off if they weren't taught its okay to bully people if its government doing it?

Also, the form of your question, "Why do you support a dumb America" ? was asked as if a person that doesn't support government forcibly funded schools is not in favor of people being educated. Your indoctrination has trapped you...again.

Yes, I follow.

I remember bringing guns to school, so we could go hunting afterwards. Long time ago.
