Dirt clones... what to do...

I really dont want to go back to dirt... I havent had a mite since going full hydro...

But my 2 new clones are in solo cups of dirt, and ready to move right away....

Any suggestions on how to convert them to hydro, or am I best off just dealing with the dirt weed?

too much space devoted to supplies, diff. ph/nute solutions, and bugs... after 2-3yrs battling mites, I dont want to risk it... I dont want to run both systems again...

Unless I have to, my clone skill seems to have dropped off with the new year... cant root a damn thing :(

I'm not sure what medium you use, but this is some advice I can offer being a hydro guy myself and transferring from soil to hydro.
Proper introduction is key here to keeping your room critter free. I've made the mistake of not cleaning my clones before introduction....once.
Mix up the proper dose of neem oil, luke warm water and a drop of dish soap and shake it up real good.
Spray the tops & bottoms of leaves until they drip.
This will greatly reduce the risk of bringing in critters to your clean critter free room.
Remove the root ball from the cup and crumble the dirtball off of the roots the best you can careful not to tear any roots loose. Have a cup of ph'd water ready to dip the roots in. Wash the dirt from the roots. Spray the roots with the premixed neem oil then dip in a clean water cup. Transplant into Hydroton or whatever medium you use for your hydroponic system. The roots will be like a long tangled stringy shape after dipping them, so in my experience what I'll do is wrap the roots in a coil shape in the medium before covering them and it seems to help the roots climb through medium at a faster rate in more directions promoting a more dense root ball.

RR's and clonex brings me outstanding results in a dome. Over 90% alot of times they all make it most of the time. Maybe I'm lucky but I tried it the 1st time and had 19 out of 20make it, and have had similar results ever since. (3yrs).
Temp is crucial too, but have never needed a heat math just a semi warm far closet or cabinet.

What kind of hydro do you do?

Aero cloners are basically 100% for me. Do you have an extra water pump laying around? Bubble cloning works as well, $15 at Walmart and you've got supplies for a bubble cloner.

Water cloning works as well, just much slower. A cutting in a glass of water. My parents used to root flowers this way on the kitchen window sill when I was growing up...

I tried that method just a couple weeks ago, I didn't give them but less than 7 days. And I ended up throwing them out. But I wonder if they would have rooted that would have been awesome. I grow up in the country, farmland working on farms growing up. And that's al a lot of people I know route flowers and such.

I generally run 5gal dwc buckets, i have 3.5gal cloner, but think it may need better sprayers, its never done well. I ended up using that + root riot cubes back when I was first starting out... worked but took ages, and allows no dome to keep humidity high... I have grown so used to my 4" rockwool w/ hydroton, growing from seed like a lazy bastard for too long....

If you are looking for an easy, pretty much worry free cloner -I wrote a "how to" DIY on a 13 plug bubble cloner.
I've had a very good success rate with this cloner. Im certain you can build it for about $40...or less since you are growing hydro already and likely have some materials lying around already.

Faster but not better
Better is in the eyes of the person who is smoking, IMO. I would tend to agree with you as a soil grower, I *think* I get better tasting bud, less chemical taste, etc...

I smoked some Hydro the other day - guy claimed he flushed for 2 weeks on only water in his Hydro setup, still tasted like chemicals to me.
