US ground troops in Libya...the best recruiting tool ISIS would ever have.
Thanks to Obloma.I tossed Bernie a hundo, 200$ to animal rescue and 200$ to St Jude Children's.. I'm tapped out for donations... You don't seem to understand that when our troops show up, radicals disperse and recruit.. Our occupying their land makes recruiting much easier, Do you think we should stay there forever? Do you have any idea how many Iraqi cities are under control of jihadists? Iraq is a much worse place now then it was 15 years ago.. Not only is iraq more fucked up, the whole region is.
Used to be training camp gone,...make `em think twice. No occupation needed.
Thanks to Obloma.
You only show that you have no idea of the logistics involved. If I was Obama I'd have had every troop, vehicle and weapon or piece of equipment back stateside in under 30 days from taking office.
We have drones that can do that job. We destroy the camp, they just come back. Each time we kill a bystander with a drone, we kill any hope of winning over the people in the area. When we invade or occupy, they just melt into the population and start guerrilla actions. The civil war in Iraq is a good example of what happens when we occupy. Its up to the people of Libya to decide who will lead and about the only thing we can do is contain ISIS and provide aid to their enemies when it makes sense to do so.Used to be training camp gone,...make `em think twice. No occupation needed.
That would also be a great characterization of the Donald Trump's immigration policy. Corso would make a great president, by the way.You only show that you have no idea of the logistics involved.

Also, make national defense mean what the words say -- National Defense -- instead of International defense. Stay off other peoples lawn my dad always said.
Maybe you and your buds could write in your votes for him. That would also be a great characterization of the Donald Trump's immigration policy. Corso would make a great president, by the way.
So, what's your plan again? How many troops, where will they be deployed, what kind of armament, is this a US operation or NATO, how many casualties do you expect, does the Libyan government agree to the invasion, what's the objective, and what's the exit strategy?Drones are not troop dispensers or ever meant to dispatch troops,...you need the manned strike force.
Get drones outta ya head, they are limited and carry little payloads. They are not and never will be a match for manned artillery deployments.
The area these trainees were in had one way out, ..they were pinned, the sea saved them. The Libyans are prolly pissed.
The Pentagon labeled it a decisive strike. It never happened because people like you have not seen what our ranks can do without being held back by political correctness.
Staying there is not part of the plan.

What about saying "no" to the person assigning how you will end your life? I don't think he cares what you say.Neither.
The options you presented do not offer ALL of the options, hence it is a false dichotomy.
The problem with your example is it presumes somebody else has the legitimate authority to point to somebody and say "kill them" and the pawn has no recourse to ask why or disobey.
I want to be the person that says no to the person "assigning" me how I will live my life. Don't you?
Maybe they should have driven a few of these around the streets of Baghdad. Then it wouldn't have taken 9 years.View attachment 3609888

That's a good point. However much of the military experience of a soldier is the same on either side of a conflict. They blindly obey. They seldom consider the option of not going to war in the first place. What about saying "no" to the person assigning how you will end your life? I don't think he cares what you say.
Sadly, that is not the nature of war. That's a good point. However much of the military experience of a soldier is the same on either side of a conflict. They blindly obey. They seldom consider the option of not going to war in the first place.
They are thrust into combat and for some odd reason feel a "sense of duty" to obey orders to kill people, many of whom, like them, would simply rather have remained neutral and at home.
I liked reading about the World War One Christmas truce. That's the one where the soldiers in the trenches temporarily regained their sanity. If they had all been just a little more courageous they could have prevented a lot of unnecessary death by staging a Peace rally and telling their masters to pound sand.
