Should APPLE be forced to unlock San Bernardino terrorist iphone

That article is the crux of my question.

Why don't the ABC's just ask someone capable to unlock "This" phone?
I don't get it.

They don't want to have to ask anyone for anything, they want free reign... We wouldn't even have ever heard about this if not for Snowden .. Before Snowden the feds would have just demanded n received while the public was none the wiser.

Going to renew my Mccafee now.......

He a sharp dude for sure, he is one of thousands with the skills to get the job done..he might be trying to garner some favor with State dept. So Belize govt can't extradite him for killing his neighbor.

Who do you think works for the Feds?
They hire gamers to fly drones, who do they hire to hack the shit out of everyone :)

If you actually knew what happens you'd know I'm not all over the place by suggesting some people don't visit the right places to know that they can already be hacked.

Read about halfway down- right after" why the best hackers on the planet don't work for the FBI"

It is a tough question and hard to ballance.

On the one hand it is imperative to find out who all these people were talking to.

On the other if the FBI has a way of getting a tool for a valid reason then using it to do things beyond the scope of their original request.

I say that our privacy is a previous thing.

I think you may be right, the dude has skills though. But that's a bold statement.. I hope he can bust it open n get in.
You don't understand. It's not about Apple. The feds are probably in, maybe days ago. A kid with $100 can buy the software to get in.

It's a statement about Obama's tyranny, his power grab, control of others. If Obama and his NSA don't have a lot of intel info on this couple and their network by now, then they are surely part of Obama's JV team....I don't mean his stupid characterization of ISIL.

No Constitutional judge would sanction this strong arm attempt. It would set a precedent for the govt. to strong arm other private firms.

I suspect the Feds are asking Apple to do it because they can blame someone if the attempt to unlock the phone bricks the phone, rendering it completely useless, forever. You see if, if the FBI attempts to unlock the phone and bricks it, they are up shit's creek and nobody to blame but themselves. If Apple does it and fails, well, they have someone to blame.

At the end of the day, I don't think the Feds "really" care about what's on that phone.

If I were an intelligent FBI employee & a knowledgeable hacker, I'd buy a dozen iPhones and attempt to unlock those until I figure out how to do it consistently without bricking the phone, then use that knowledge to unlock the Taliphone.

What do you mean " I don't understand" ?

I've been saying from day 1 its not necessary n the government is overstepping..very patriot actesque.
