Hydroguard help

I changed my resivors last night and added 2 oz of hydrogen peroxide -- my water temps have been getting up to 73-76* F with the 1000 watt on. My roots, white and fluffy and abundant. I've been using hydrogen peroxide and running high DWC temps without any issues.

I bought hydroguard though to replace the peroxide which I add each day before my lights come on.

I know I cannot use both at the same time. How long should I wait to add the Hydroguard, I read at least 4 days to let the peroxide be used all up.

Advice?

What up @NVGrower . Those are some pretty high temps and you will run the risk of root rot even with HG.

As for how to apply the HG. Do a res change and fill up with tap water and add clearex at 3ml per gallon and ph to 5.8 run the pumps continuously for 2 hours. Then fully drain and add your fresh tap water, then nutes, add your HG, then PH to 5.8. I change my res every 2 weeks.

I'm going to buy a cheap portable fridge to modify for this next grow and I'll be converting my DWC setup to a rdwc setup.

If I run 400 watts I can keep the temps under 68-71 if I run 600 watts I see 71-74 and at 1000 watts I see 73-77 from watching the numbers.

When I switched I waited 5days and emptied Rez and refilled. Got temps down to 65-66 and haven't looked back, here's a pic of roots 3.5 weeks after they were cut

I made a water chiller out of a water cooler stand tonight, going to setup the rdwc and I should be go to go.
You'll be surprised at how much better your plants do even if they were doing ok. I thought I was growing some pretty good plants, after the chiller was installed I realized I had missed out and plants were subpar.

And just a note I am trying a new product called OregonismXL which is cheaper here. See if it has the same effect as hydroguard.

Your temps are fine, you only have to be concerned if they get to 80+ in DWC. All other hydro is much more flexible. As far as when you can use your hydroguard? Well you would have to calculate how much peroxide you put in the water first and then you would need to know the strength you used and then your friend google will be able to find from chemistry sites how fast peroxide will dissipate in the water. Then you will have your answer.

I beg to differ regarding temps, if my temps get above 70 I get concerned :(.

Can you show me and everyone here where you got this info from? The I will show you how you are wrong. Please post to me a botany link that shows you are correct in regards to hydroponics and not some stoners post.

Ok I'll bite lol. Here's roots that got above 70 using beaniesimage.jpeg and here's roots that are kept at 65 image.jpeg so perhaps it's something else other than temps. What is the optimum temp for a flooded root zone? And sorry for disagreeing with you, it seems you get a bit excited when that happens lol.

I've had my temps running 68-72 and was using hydrogen peroxide. But once I increased the watts to 1000 the temps started getting up to 77 and that's when I added hydro guard the other day. I'll post pictures of the roots in a few weeks

Well I started using HG just as I lowered the Rez temp so you may be able to run a bit higher temps if using HG but I just know things are way better for my setup since lowering temps as you can see by my present grows roots

Update -- temps have been through the roof all week. Results of roots? Solid pure fluffy white. I just waited 24 hours to add the HG after 2oz of h202.

Res temps are down to 68 after a top off. Hopefully they won't exceed 5 more degrees. I built a chiller for next time after converting this to a rdwc setup.

I was and still am using beanies but as said switched to hydroguard and that cured it along with cooler temps. I was brewing tea last year and honestly I got the same results from just using straight beneficials, well until the dreaded rot lol. Now as the picture shows, cooler water and yes possibly the hydroguard as well, seemed to do a great job. The good roots pic is 3.5 week old cuts rooted in root riot cubes then put in net pots. Here's a pic of the plants image.jpeg the attached file is 10 days ago.
