I appreciate the offer on loaning me the press.. Thank you that's very nice and I might take you up on that as the design I've got coming will require more drilling than I thought.
I was wondering if Fry's had stuff. I was in there the other day looking for heat sink but they didn't have it. That won't come cheap. You've got your lights on a dimmer right?
There are new drivers coming out I was just reading... Hlg-320h series... Maybe a 6 cob, single driver light is in my future lol!
Just pm me if you want to use it the drill press. I bought it to be used, not sit in my closet.
Ya fry's had a ton of stuff a whole lot cheaper than home depot too.
So StraightRoad is ducking me around more. They got my driver last Monday. I didn't hear anything from them all week. So Friday I emailed saying I would just like a refund, done dealing with their unprofessional Shit. Here is their response.
"
Hi Karl,
My apologies in advance for the delay, our QA manager was out the office for a few days (funeral) and she is now working on your RMA. Following is our RMA procedure for your reference.
Once we receive the part back from Customer we sent back to the Manufacturer for evaluation. Once they have completed their evaluation, one out of the 2 options apply:
1. Re-work and send part back to us.
2. Send replacement part.
When we receive the part back from Manufacturer, then we issue a credit and re-bill and send back the re-worked part or new replacement part.
No credit will be issued by Straight Road, until evaluation by Manufacturer is complete.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you but we cannot accommodate your request, to issue a credit immediately. Be assured, we have prioritized this RMA and will update as soon as we hear back from our Manufacturer."
Isn't that convenient. Also Julia never said anything about sending the driver back to Mean Well when I requested a refund.
"Hi Karl,
The wiring diagram was checked and we think everything is correct. Based on calculation you should be able to measure 108Vdc@1750mA at the output leads of the HLG-240H-C1750 to the LEDS.
Can you turn on the unit without the LEDs connected and should measure ~143Vdc at the output. We want to make sure it is a bad driver. If you cannot measure then you can send it back for testing."
I am copy and pasting her responses so people do not think I am exaggerating the situation. StraightRoad is a shit company that will try it's hardest to weasel out of any situation. They knew they would have to send my driver back to Mean Well why did they waste a week having me test things? I'm guessing it will be at least a month before I see a new driver. I have the day off from work because of rain and I am seriously contemplating going down to my bank and filing fraud charges. Every other company I dealt with on this build, and trust there was a TON of them went smoothly. Straightroad screwed up every single part on their end.
Well I finally got my system all dialed in I found raising my lights up next to my 6" exhaust fan solved all my issues. I am able to run all 100% and leaf zone temps stay at 75. They have also started growing up a little more instead of just out. Think this will work much better to let the plants grow to them. But man these sour sherburt are some bushy bitches.
It was not easy going from hand watering rock wool under weak lights, to now a fully automated system in coco under the brightest fucking lights man has invented. It was quite the learning curve but now I have a real good feel for how the whole system works. Ton of time and hard work put into this whole setup and it is super gratifying to see it all work. I will start flowering today.
Set up the veg side yesterday, the seedlings just seemed stunted under the cxbs, maybe the light was just too intense. I think I will give the first batch a month in there and then move to flower room. But that all depends how much room the current sherbet end up taking up after stretch. Those veg leds are fairly week so I think they would be fine 2 months in there but would like to get more of a perpetual grow going eventually. I also popped 3 Exotic Genetix Gutbuster, 2 LA Plata Labs Alien Blues, and 1 Johnston Genetics Captain Purple Berries Cookies last night.
Check out this fan leaf. Picture doesn't do size justice. Way bigger than my hand and I'm a pretty big guy.
And a little bonus shot of a fish tank I set up as a surprise for my wife.
There is 20 Harlequin Raspboras and 8 Pygmy Corries. The harlequins are just the coolest fish. Constantly moving in the right school, often the pygymy's join the school. And they eat! Feeding 3 times a day and it is a frenzy every time. Tank is a Mr Aqua 12 gallon long.
