oh dude if full legalization happened small growers would out, even large scale small growers would be out. big businesses would hold the majority of sales and I'm not talking about walmart but theres people out there in the weed business that are like the walmart of weed waiting for that legalization push to hit so they can take the market. its not a matter of if its a matter of when
thats not true. we've shot down megaweed twice now and have 2 more opportunities to shoot it down again.. the colorado/wa model doesn't work in michigan not enough people have the money to fund it here.
theres a lot of money flowing into colorado for other things and that money makes its way into the canna industry by people who work elsewhere and wanna buy smoke.. here in michigan the amount of people outside the canna industry with good paying jobs that wanna buy smoke is a very small minority, id hate to estimate a percentage and be off but if i had to bet it would be less then 10% of the customers in michigan earn more then 30k a year.
basically our market is very cash poor but its got a HUGE demand and thats not a problem. lets use beer as an analogy... nattys ice will do well in a market like this but some IPA from a guy with an ironic mustache in grand rapids will probably not do amazing...
so if megaweed wants to come to michigan they are going to bring the worst possible quality for the most possible profit and thats not gonna fly, we live in some weird middle market right now where people demand at least a middle range quality for a low price and dispensaries wont give that so if the underground goes you will see dispensaries running sales and blowout prices left and right to try and attract business.. the megaweed model just doesn't work in such a cash strapped area
