Hydroguard help

It happens, it can be in your water supply, I'd it takes hold in the system it's a pain to get rid of, higher water Temps, usually over 70, make it take hold much faster. I'm guessing there were more bad bacteria than good bacteria at the time you were adding the pond zyme and just weren't adding enough for control. Also, weaker plants are Easy victims, do you recall if the plants were really healthy at the time or were there any issues?
They were from seed and are the moms of the clones. Once cured of rot they have become 7' monsters that are to big. The microbe lift is the same as pondzyme and is for ponds . I was putting in enough to do a small pond LOL. I ran an unchilled Res for 3-4 years and figure I was missing out on way better plants. Running at 65 with a canopy of 75 has been way better for me for rate growth and general plant health. Running higher than 70 is possible, yes I did it, but your running a tight rope of disaster so if possible I would recommend a chiller to anyone

That's the Barly I believe, unless you were seeing something else (if the roots were white it was Barly). I use 1 tsp for 50 gallons, them 1/2 tsp 2x a week. Not sure if this is the perfect application rate, its what I calculated from the directions on the label though, which is a pain because it's for large amounts of water :p
This is what it looked like.

What u think?

image.jpeg Here is the girl that I resurrected from near death lol. She's still got some issues but at least she lives on through clones lol. And yes I'll get a bit of bud, can't wait to try it to see if this shit was worth it, it better be good :).

Like I said earlier, when twisted isn't being a dick he has some valid points and yes hydroguard is way over priced as are most canna specific products, check out great white for pricey shit lol. Does hydroguard work, hell yes it does. Do other cheaper products work? Well yes they do and I'm pretty sure the Oregonism I'm trying is working very well but time will tell. There are hundreds of beneficials out there that probably work seeing how they're all pretty much the same lol

I would love to see a grow you've actually documented where you ran 80F (DWC), without an issue. I would be more than happy to turn off my chiller pumps if I could, just not going through the "trying to cure rot" thing again. I figure it's cost me over $1200 buying pot to replace the stuff I should have had in jars :(.

I was going to mention great white but I haven't used it because of its stupid price lol, that's supposed to be some good shit though! It has like 10 kinds of bacteria or something like that, 340$ for 5lb yikes

I wouldn't want to run over 72 in a system where the roots are constantly in the water, that's asking for trouble. Dwc, NFt, Aeroponics and rdwc I'd be scared as hell running high Temps. Ebb and flow, well, it's still risky, I've never run pond zyme by its self, I've been using it with hydroguard, I'm not sure if pond zyme by itself is enough to kill hydroponic bacteria, cyanbacteria, pythium and furrissum are some nasty shit, they are way more powerful than good bacteria, so a huge army of good bacteria is needed to have a chance. That's what I gather anyway, I wish there were a meter that measured good and bad bacteria into a ppm number haha :p

Many do run at these temps or even higher. I have seen people run in the 80's and 90's just fine.

You can use Pondzyme to do all of this and save yourself money instead of this high priced Hydroguard from Botanicaire, which is nothing more than a offshoot version of Pondzyme for twice the price and lasts you only 10% of the time Pondzyme will, but you will see Botanicaire sales reps here pushing it, which is what this thread is all about.
Lol your one conspiracy theorist because I'm not a representative and I'm the original poster it just feels strange using pond and pool products in my medical hydro system.

Right on bro. Chilling the res is just way too easy to not do it. Why run the risk, ya know?

Why would it feel weird when ponds have plants in them to grow plants and hydroponics derived from pond growing, didn't you know that?

Totally agree, I admit, I have much faster growth with water mid 70s, but I've also had pythium attack every single time, eventually, at higher Temps. I've had much less bacteria attacks with cooler Temps, though it can still happen, it's a precaution I take to lower res Temps. Growing a plant comes down to a limiting factor, 1 thing off can fuck your grow up. So taking steps to limit things that can go wrong is best imo

That's why I run a little warmer Temps with using bennies, just warm enough to get the same growth, have good do in the water and keep the bennies happy :peace:

I have had some infrastructure issues lol. My shed got down to 50 which in turn lowered my Res temps to 58 and the plants in veg have just kept rolling along, growing an inch a day. Mind you the ambient temp was warm and really humid at around 78 with 75%, as its in its own seperate room. I'm thinking that even at lower Res temps these plants do well as long as the canopy is warm .. Thoughts?? I fill all res's directly from well which is 54 and they don't flinch, just keep going.

I agree, matter of fact when I ran my cold res in the 50s, my rh was also high at about 65-75% swing daily. They loved it! I think my Temps were controlled to 70-80 night and day Temps. Some strains might not like it, but if you think about it, if you dig a hole in the ground, it will be about that temp, 55. Root cellars stay that cold all year round. Plants roots are used to growing down deep into the earth where it's cold :peace:

But getting below 55 is a bad idea, that will slow growth, I think 55 and up is safe, but warmer is better imo, then again I haven't grown in 55 degree water other than one run. So not much I know about it lol, though it comes back to much more do in the water, and plants like that and bad bacteria don't :p
